I have a 73 that got the diamond plate treatment on the rear quarter pannels. I am going to put the hard top back on but the rear swing-outs are protruding back about a quarter of an inch because I did not notch a spot for the hinges in the diamond plating. Can I still get the rear hatch to close? Anyone else dealt with this situation?
Thanks
Pablo

It will still close so long as you have good weather stripping on the rear hatch. On my 10/73 the rear swing outs don't close all the way because of a warped rear sill, and the rear hatch still closes fine.

i've never had a problem and i've had three cruisers with d/p now.

I agree, I just installed diamond tread on mine and had no problems with closure or fit around the rear doors. Go for it.
