I had gone through my 2014 200 series and did all the 100K maintenance end of last year. Now at 103K miles.
It was time to take care of the outside. I have had the 200 almost 10 years (Jan 2016) and bought it off a 2 year lease with 25K miles
As woody says, don’t wheel it if you are afraid to break it. And I have wheeled it. Armor is all scraped up and the truck has a few dings and it is full of pinstripes down both sides.
I am not going to spend money on the dings, but I wanted to see if I could do something about the pin stripes and do it myself. I always like getting new tools
I had never done anything other than wax so this was a learning process for me
I researched the topic and found I needed a Random Orbital Polisher. Flex seems to be the best and Harbor Freight has one at the other end of the scale. Reading reviews, I zeroed in on Griots G9 Orbital Random Polisher. It seemed like the best cost vs capability value to me for a beginner. They have a lot of reviews on their site on the whole process and a complete set of products to go with it.
They also have step by step videos to walk you through. Plenty of other videos on line using their products
Lots of positive reviews on the web for their products and I also got their Synthetic Clay pad based on positive videos and reviews. I had never used clay and it looked like a pain, but the synthetic clay looked easy to use and it was.

And Boss’s Fast Correcting Cream for really deep issues
After doing the Clay process to the whole truck I used the Complete Compound polish. The complete compound took care of 70% of my pin stripes. I then used the Boss’s Correcting Cream and 90% of the scratches and pinstripes are gone. Some will never come out because they are very deep.
I figured I may get another 5% or less out with the more aggressive Fast Correcting Cream. Since this isn’t a show vehicle, I decided I will return the Fast Correcting Cream when I get it Sunday.
I then used Boss’s Best Show wax using the G9 orbital Random Polisher on setting 2.

It was so dirty from Silverton at the COTR event, I had to wash it twice. I should have taken more pictures of the truck before I started when Clean, but here are a few key areas and it is like that down both sides, or rather was

Still a gashes and nicks and that is fine with me. It goes with all the scrapes on the armor
