You're looking great!

IMO the amber lens clash with the coral color… the clear/white lens are complementary. An amber bulb will make you legal. (I touched up your bezel.)

Can you pop in the parking lights?

You could start a paypal account and take in donations for "Destin's Hubcap Fund". ;)

Yeah looking for some pristine ones ( hubcaps ) but not high on my priority list right now hehe ;)

Man I am gonna try to get tons done this weekend :D

Well Destin, your rig will look very close to the one I posted in post#1366, well except for the hard top!

We even found those original Dunlop RK3 tires still being made overseas, and have been trying to find a way to import them, but nothing yet. If we manage those tires, they would go on an extra set of rims for the Sunday drive, as I doubt we'll ever find them again...at least not new :frown:

wow nice!

Yo have any photos of these tires ?

Let me know :)

Clear/white turn siganl lenses were never imported to the US on the earlier FJ40. Not sure I've ever seen clear turn signal lenses on any FJ40 before 1975. Anything you seen were just amber lenses faded out. The 61/62 had the the double sided lenses. Front were amber with the back red. The bib lights were clear until the 68 model. The FJ25s used the bib light location for both parking lights and turn signal lights. Those were clear.

Don't listen to them Destin...they are evil

Guys, the '64 had amber turn signals, and clear bib lenses, (just look at post #1366) and that is what should be done here...but it is your choice Destin, and this is just my 0.02

OK did tons of s*** today :)

Sorry for the photos, damn camera battery was dieing and the flash was all wonk, and then it started to sprinkle rain haha.

Popped the tail gate on ( have painters tape on the inside of the edges to protect the paint right now )

Bows installed, gas pedal etc.

The F.D. knob is a diff size thread than the cable, might have the incorrect cable, need to look into that :D

anyway, here are the horrible photos, looks much better, will take better photos on a nicer day with a full battery charge and better lighting :D

I gotta ask.. and maybe you covered this somewhere along the way.. WHAT's the deal with that heater?? It's just that you are going SOo all out stock on this work of art.. just wondering:meh:.

Do you have a replacement top to go on it yet?

oh, and Thanks John for the FD knob!

Looks great :D

I appreciate it man!
You're welcome, Curious why it does not fit, does your push pull rod have one large thread 6mm, tapering to a 4mm thread? I have seen cables with the 4mm tip broken off. I do have complete cables if you need one. Keep Plugging. John

Thanks man :D

I think it It goes from 6mm to something smaller, but the small bit is too small for the threads of the knob :(
I would be interesting in buying an extra cable from ya that fits the knob if you have one handy :D

Wasn't until 66 that a heater was standard in the US imported FJ40s. In 65 it was a option that it seems about half had. In 64 it was a very rare option that very few had. The heater destin is using was a very popular dealer installed option. Since they is no vent on the passenger's side of the cowl this was a non-factory heater model so this heater would be period correct.
