BTW new Windshield Cushion PN# 96211-50801 are still available from Toyota and are the same good Quality, the CCOT ones are Junk

Its not a permanent addition.....you can take them out easily enough........

The big thing for me is that it helps dampen some of the road/engine noise........
I drive mine every day rain or shine so every little bit helps...

Put them in when you need them - In Aus on a hot day the floor pans get so hot you can hardly put your feet on the floor. No issue re originality - You have to also have some things that make it more driveable - If you want to show it - you can always take them out.

Go for it.

make cardboard templates and cut from horse stall mat. Comes on a roll at Coastal in the OC shopping mall. But yes I would do something.

have not found a better pic. The profile is smaller than the pic above shows, rest of the mat stored on the bed.
This profil is easy to clean.
