ok i am starting to get fawking annoyed.

the shop has had the body for 128 fawking days!!!!!
I mean, it does not take that long to get s*** done.
And all the while i have been having to rent a damn shop and a rental car because my wife is mostly out of town for school.

Sooo pissed, this was supposed to be what one month to paint tops and i could be reassembling it and driving it.

Ready to fawking flip the fawk out.
I keep being patient and people keep taking more and drawing s*** out.
I seriously despise my fellow man at the moment.
This is beyond absurd.

the Shop said it MIGHT be done by the beginning of february.
MIGHT!

in a body shop - squeaky wheel gets the oil. Keep whining - or get your rig out and find someone else to do the job.

yeah , i would assume the polite client that is paying money to have s*** done would get priority. What kind fawking would do we live in when a whining **** gets better service? ( I know it is ironic that i am whining now )

I feel like beating this s*** out of someone with my bare hands.
I hate being patient and accommodating and getting worked over.
They are likely dragging it out to justify labor hours to hit a predetermined amount of money they want to get out of me.

not happy.

It takes a lot to get me angry, this just pisses me off.
I feel like they have me over the barrel, and i am at their mercy.

go get your stuff, body shops are a dime a dozen. Pay them for their work and move on. Contact a new shop before hand to let them know of your urgency and plan so you can move from one shop to the next. By allowing them to sluff off - they are just going to keep sluffing off. On you - AND the next poor sap. Now you know why I painted the 45 by myself ;-) cheaper and no possible buttheads to deal with.

yeah man I may have to.
I really just want my s*** done right and on time.
That I know is not asking a lot haha.
I have been patient as fawk, and they keep jerking me around.
They already have me for about 8k. ( blasting, metal work and primer )

They just keep taking longer.

I agree with Dallas...show up with a few guys, some cash, and transport for your parts.

Don't make the mistake of telling them that you'll be coming back for it...that will only lead to a bigger mess.

I think you have lasted quite a lot longer than I would have, so  to you :)

yeah all good points guys ;)

Thing is the work is all top notch, just the time is killing me.
I keep telling myself to be patient, i want them to do a good job, but it just is killing me.

waiting for a new project to start for work, might go work on the bits i can today on the fj chassis ( need to pop the exhaust back on and the skid plate etc.

Destin, would talk with these guys.
Tell them you need the Cruiser at a fixed date.
Ask them if they could finish all the work until this date, if not pay them and haul your body parts.
Important : Make a written contract ( however it would have been preferable to make that before ... too late ;)),
description of the works, the costs and the date )....

... but now talk with them.
Cheers

Yeha I hear ya.
Quality of work and money is ok so far ( they asked to approve stuff as they did it ) However they keep pushing out my work for other work, and after 140+ it is wearing thin, and to hear maybe 30+ more days of waiting... ( this happens every month btw ), i am just getting annoyed.

If I raise a big stink I run the risk of them doing a bad job ( probably more me being paranoid than anything, people are strange creatures )

Anyway, so tired of getting brushed off.

ugh

I would do as others have mentioned. Have an alternative plan first, then go see them and do not be nice. I am speaking from experience. If you are having these problems, they are not a professionally run shop and it will not get any better. It will only take longer and you will only get more pissed. I had a Porsche project of mine go south like this. In the end it turned out concours but I had to get extremely tough. Go do it now.

You going in there mad and I think quality might drop. Do they know you are renting a car and this is suppose to be your daily driver. Seems like common for shops to let project cars slip for peoples daily drivers. If you go pick it up do you have another shop to paint it, and will you run into the same thing, will the next shop finish it or will they want to re do some of the work already done to make some money. A real catch 22 with no real good solution.

yeah that is my worry, if i make noise they will fxxx it up and the paint will peel in a year. I hate dealing with this kind of s***.
