did you get a new bumper for it yet?;p

Is this a new OEM bumper? Did it come with all the extra holes? Now that I figured out the two ho;es for the OEM fog lights I thought I knew what all all holes were for. Yours has some extra ones I don't know what would go there. Remember somone posting about more holes in the new Toyota bumper.

yeah, new 40 bumper with all the new holes. I don't have the inner frame horns because of the Ramsey so those 2 bolts are missing in my pic. I don't have the license plate on either but I don't know what the other holes are for. I'll have to look in my microfishe for later cruisers to see if I can find out.

damn, second pintle hitch, yet another bolt pattern :(

fits width wise now but not height :(

:hhmm: I've never had that problem. Most of the ones I have are OEM but I've installed others. I now the one on my 68 is not stock. It has the cotter pin to lock it which isn't stock. Are you sure the back of the frame is still stock? I wouldn't go stock if you plan since it doesn't have the locking cotter pin. Or lock it down with some kind of a strap.

I assume it is all stock, it is connected to the frame with rivets... ( the rear bumper )

If you have a stock one that is not in use I would be glad to take it off your hands :D

;)

I know about not using all the two inside bolts in the top plates because you have to cut them to get the winch to fit. The license plate bracket has four holes. Two inside the frame rails towards the passenger's side and two out side the one for the fog light on the passenger's side. The ones outside the frame were used when the PTO was installed. The third hole on the passenger's side and the ones outside the fog light on the driver's side confuse me.

I know of sixteen holes in the stock bumper up to around 1980 if not longer. The FJ25 and and 1961 FJ40 have even less. Maybe do a tread on the difference between the two.

The auction for the heater ended. Who got it? I didn't bid on it. Trying to wing myself from Ebay. That and the fact I try not to bid against another mudder who could use something more than me.

I believe that the original color is white similar to yours. I have painted the housing (less the enameled front) body color.

That'll warm it up good......Had mine blasting out the heat this morning taking my diva, I mean daughter, to school.........Can't believe its 40 degrees outside.....

Destin,

Really enjoying this thread on your Red Toyota.

The bolt spacing on the pintle hitch on my 62 FJ is 1 3/4 inches by 3 3/8. Its the same as a MB and GPW jeep.

Hope this helps, Ken

thanks man :D

another question!

am i safe inassuming the oil filter canister is gravity based filter?

ie

engine oil coming IN from the side, and going OUT through the bottom of the canister back into the motor?

correct?

Don't think the mounting brackets were available thru Toyota USA. Owens export brought in some mounting brackets. I think Mot had these available too. Might check with him to see if he still can get them along with the fog light and switch. CDan was able to get me a set of lights fog lights. Just need to have the part number. I'm not saying $200 is a bad price I'm just not sure how much less than retail it is. As many cruisers I'm trying to collect parts for I try to be a imformed shopper.

I have it :)

more than i wanted to spend, but now i have something so i can drive it in the winter :)

If you wouldn't mind maybe Shane could reproduce the front label. When you get see if there were some instructions on the little door that on the driver's side. Looking at some of my old photos I noticed one of my looks like there is some instruction on it. Maybe we could get those two. I've got three I wouldn;t mind restoring.
