DeltaVS Floppy Mirror Fix (2 Viewers)

Maybe I'm just dumb, but how it the DeltaVS Floppy Mirror Fix supposed to work? I haven't found any info on this here or on their website.

I assumed that the part goes on top of the spring, the spring gets compressed and then the set screws get tightened until you pass out or crack the post. I didn't want to crack the post (I think its plastic, but i may be wrong), so I tightened it as much as I felt comfortable with. After ~10 miles of driving, the Delta part came loose and I have a floppy mirror again

Thoughts/Ideas?

Remove the mirror currently experiencing floppiness. Decide if you want to either pound a nail in the shaft or go my route. Either way works.

If you go my way then just place the new piece and Mark for drilling and then drill both sides.

Thanks for posting, just getting home from a long weekend of camping and was going to link that. It’s the best available until we actually install in one of the shop rigs and make our own instructions.
