I think the gift exchange sounds like a good plan. It's been fun the past few years. For drinks, I'd like to suggest that people bring some beer/wine/soda/tea/water to share. Maybe also people should bring a side dish or dessert to share. Kind of depends exactly what we get from Rudy's.

Assuming that Pappy will cut us a check to reimburse, we will order & pick up the food.

If you want to chime in on your preferences, please do so before noon so we can place the order ahead of time. If you don't let your preference be known, then you can't b***h about what food shows up!

I don't have a clue about how much we need, so any info is helpful. I would also suggest that we get some sides from Rudy's while we're there. I know they have slaw and what else - potato salad maybe? Ill check their website and post up again shortly with some suggestions. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking turkey, beef brisket, sausages and some sides...

You beat me to it Evan. I was just typing up a response. I concur with Brisket, Turkey and Sausages. I would think their BBQ beans and potato salad would be adequate sides. Then people only need to worry about bringing a dessert to share and some drinks.

Pappy mentioned that we no longer have a bank account so reimbursement would need to come through PayPal. I've requested a funds transfer from PayPal to my bank account once. I takes a few days to clear.

Evan, as I recall you can tell Rudy's you have x number of people and they can do the math. Marc is correct. Due to monthly checking fees we have ditched the checking account and gone PayPal only.

OK, we are good to go - I placed the order already, since the website says that group orders need to be placed the day before, so I didn't want to waste any time.

I counted 21 people from the headcount, and since some of those are kids, we should have plenty of food even if a few extras show up.

We've got 10 pounds of meat split between brisket, turkey, & sausage, plus sides of bbq beans, potato salad, & cole slaw, so bring your appetites!

We're scheduled for pickup at 4:45, and we should be there shortly after 5:00.
