You need the new style flange. Go to the dealer and just tell them you have a 1997 land cruiser and they will give you the correct flange. It's about $45.00. Then the dust cap will fit properly.
If you get it by Sunday I'll slap it on for you.

Dave looks awesome. I think youare crazy you should just continue to build this one and stop thinking about the next one. I would drive it alot more than 3000 miles a year and start planning on the head gasket fix collecting parts and the like. from what I understand once done your engine is guna be pretty solid.

Ordered my flange, shoudl have it tomorrow.
Noticed on the ride home that my right turn blinker was very fast. Turns out my front turn signal was wicked corroded. Took some time to break out the old bulb and I can't get the new one to seat right now.
Was fun driving it to work today, lots of positive comments at work.

All fixed.
A bit messy but an easy enough job. I also took the opportunity to get some grease into the knuckle (via the ABS sensor hole). Made a frosting bag of sorts with a ziplock and squeezed it in. That birf is clicky and I think I'll be tearing into that knuckle at some point soon.
