My Yakima Swing Daddy worked fine on the 100 where the hitch was below the bumper, but it's too tall for the 200 with the hitch in the bumper. The upward goose neck hits the tailgate latch. The rack arms are also very high now, making it somewhat more difficult to put a bike on as they're about eye level and this will only get worse when I get a lift and bigger tires.

The arm style rack doesn't really work very well with our mountain bikes as we have aggressively sloped top tubes, and can only get two bikes on the rack. I think I want to move to a tray style 4 bike rack. Unfortunately, it looks like the Yakima tray rack also has the stupid gooseneck. Who's got a tray rack that works on the 200?

You can run a hitch doubler upside down to get a drop on the rack height or just use it as an extender.

Looking at the Kuat and Thule..both look great, and both look expensive. I think I'll try a hitch extension first, then later I'll switch to a platform rack when I get a lift installed.

I really want a Kuat NV. Does anyone know if my girlfriends beach cruiser will work on it? It has big fenders and no upper tube.

(Sorry for the piggyback highjack :) )

I used the older style Thule swing away 4 bike rack, works great and very solid. The new one is quite expensive, try Craiglist, I scored mine for $50.

The only issue with the 1UPUSA racks is that if you have Fat Bikes you can only get an adapter for 4.9" max tire width. That's why I went with Kuat.

On your Kuat, are you unable to open the tire side when flipped down?

Wondering if I could attach an accessory hitch to the tire swing-out are itself (so the entire rack would swing out of the way with the tire), but that might be too much extra weight/leverage.

Well, that's not the only issue. I need to carry 4 bikes, which makes that guy $1100. I don't mind paying good money for good products and that certainly looks like a good product, but $1100 still stings a little bit when the next competitor is $300 less to get a 4 bike platform.

With the Slee dual swing bumper I need to add an extension. I got lucky and was able to get the one bike I had with me on the trip on the rack, but there wasn't clearance for the mount closest to the bumper to be used. Adding a hitch to one of the swing outs would be cool, but the leverage / weight of a loaded bike rack may present some issues.

http://rakattach.com/ might be an option but I haven't really examined it to see if there are clearance issues. My rig is currently being wrapped so I can't even eyeball it for ya right now. I should have it back end of the week before dropping it the following Monday With @cruiseroutfit. If I remember I'll try to sort it out.

That's a great option if it meets your needs (ie: not intended for road bikes). I know they are burly.

Very good point. I probably should have specified that. Itll carry all my kids bikes too, but the head tube design on road bikes doesn't work well with it. I'll try to get some pictures of it on and loaded next week some time. My wife has a road bike that I put on her little car. I'm not a road bike kind of guy...
