My new-ish dog chews things when he is left alone.
He ate some Landcruiser items while waiting in the parking lot.

He macerated the passenger's door lock. Anyone have a used replacement?

He chewed the wiring that once serviced the center console's rear heater. I hope he got shocked at least a little.
Is this wiring a sort of sub-harness that can be completely disconnected and removed?

Lastly, he is clumsy and a little too big to stay inthe passenger seat when off road.
Has anyone made some sort of dog-friendly mods to keep the hound in place?

I bet that door look was a good chew for him. Challenging with the window right there. :)

I bet the grey dog for sure watched the black one chewing stuff up and was like, "just wait until dad gets back to the car".

The gray is a neighbor’s dog.
My black and white model has finally figured out he can unsnap the skirt of my soft top and get out when I am not there to stop him. I guess this will reduce the amount of chew damage, but raises another set of problems.

My wife uses one of those seatbelt clip leash things when the dog is riding in her 4Runner. It doesn’t fit the 80 series.

In the 79 I have a rubber backed bath mat(kind of a plush top finish) that the dog seems to like as it gives her really sure footing and doesn't slide at all(70/30 bench seat in vinyl). Good for sleeping on. Bad for retaining sand.

For the other trucks I use this which is a good setup...as it just takes a quick clip to put her in it: Solvit Pet Vehicle Safety Harness Large NIB | eBay

I also put her on a seat cover that is rubber backed so she doesn't slide around on the vinyl or leather seats. Keeps their fur from going all over too.
