I am considering making a stock cyclone air filter insert as close to original as possible for a 82 2F engine. I have the original filter houseing with the dust catch can (case) on the bottom but some were in the 31 years the wing (cyclone apparatus) went missing (see photo). Can anyone send me a good photo, illustration, or anything that I can use to recreate this item. I have know idea of if it is perforated with small holes or what. Any info would be a good start.
Thanks advance.

Anyone have any information or a picture they can pass along. The part number is
17775-68010 Wing cyclone, used in the late 1980s FJ HJ. Worked pretty good.

Hi, I know this is a late reply but I thought i'd send you some pictures of my air filter wing just in case you hadn't got around to it yet.

I don't know how you would be able to make one without a mold however...

Good luck with it.

No, that's fine, as I was just looking at the parts I have to make one last night. Read my mind. Can't find them over here, so I am making one out of stainless steel. Are you finding the one you have working in keeping the dirt level down? That is the whole reason I am going to lengths to do this is I spend a lot of time on the very dusty roads, almost moon dust at times.
If you come across one for sale past that info to me if possible, thanks.

Pretty common in Australia: any wrecker should be able to send one to you. Do you have the assembly? There is a very effective assembly on the bottom which catches dust. I run a k & n in mine and love it. I also have a snorkle which made the most difference with the Australian bull dust. Never tried it either way without the cyclonic insert though.

Before snorkle I had to wash the filter daily in the Bush. After snorkle I could go nearly a week.

Find a place that sells Donaldson air filters, might be able to find one that will fit your rig.
