Search has come up empty for me so here we go:

2004 GX470

I am replacing the CV axles in my GX with remans from Napa and have run into a couple of problems.

As part of the service I am replacing the hub side and diff side oil seals. I pulled the hub seal out of the back side of the hub and I cannot get the new seal to seat. I built a homemade seal driver (my real kit is in storage) out of PVC coupling and caps that is the exact right size but no matter what I do its not working.

this is the part number of the seal I am using 90312-96001

Is this right seal ?

Any tips and suggestions on getting the seals in will be greatly welcome.

The next problem is the reman CVs from Napa are missing the piece where the hub seal would ride. Not sure what this is called, flange maybe.

Anyone run into this?

The OEM CV's I pulled are destroyed so I can't reboot.

I usually go OEM, but tried to save some money with these CVs but I am thinking this was a mistake.

Thanks for your help.

What you got looks like the outer(where the hub bearing mates to the dust shield). Are you looking for the inner spindle hub seal (where the CV enters the spindle)?

yes, I need the seal for the inner where the CV enters the spindle

The seal is supposed to mate up to what I think is a dust seal that is pressed on the OEM CV axle

Looks like I got the wrong seal, this appears to be the correct one:

90316-A0001

If you don't have a seal driver the hub cap are the perfect size to drive that seal in. Just use some rubber mallet so it would not damage the hubcap.
