Cutoff for transfer case needing mods for h55F swap

Hi Georg, I was considering just doing a direct swap with this transfer case. It looks like this one has one works compared to the other one I have that doesn’t.

Hi Georg, I was considering just doing a direct swap with this transfer case. It looks like this one has one works compared to the other one I have that doesn’t.

In order to swap, it has to be disassembled anyway. A gasket kit with seals and gaskets as a minimum, plus new stake nuts. And Toyota made a change to a somewhat stiffer detent spring that's well worth installing (see my Post #8 here for details):

BTW, Georg's video is excellent. I'll be using it again in a few weeks when I mate my '85 BJ45 split transfer case to my '84 HJ47 H41 that'll be going in my '71 FJ40.

Quick update. Got some good tips from Georg and parts and a great rebuilder and turned the transfer case above to this.
