Finally got J's bumper installed today. Looks awesome.

I've got 2 questions for you J. The swing arms take alot of force to open and close. Probably 20lbs. Should i sand down the brass bushings?

And this doesn't look quite right to me

I was thinking of just putting another cap on the top. Where did you get them?. Or maybe cut the post down to size?

G, that was one of the first bumpers made. I use to keep the spindles long, but started cutting them off for looks. You could zip disc the excess off. If you don't want to cut the spindle and want to add another collar to the top. They are a set shaft collar.

The arms can be firm and do loosen a bit over time, 3 in 1 oil and weight installed helps. You can lightly sand the inside of the brass bushing to get it moving smoother as well.

Had the truck out driving around town this weekend. I got alot of honks and people giving the thumbs up.

I have no doubt it was because of your bumper. It really sets the truck off.

basically, she's got a nice ass now

G, I love the color of your rig. I almost went with it for my 40 build...

Thanks,

GREAT!!! Love that its working well for you Mike. I have to say that you work my product harder than anyone else. Thanks for all the feedback.

Andrea says I should make a few more of the Longhorn grills and put them on Ebay... What do you think?

I think put them on ebay first then build them once the orders get filled. Use pics from mine.

Nice Redfish and lady too... I think I'd throw back the fish and keep the gal.... ;)

J
The Gal is my princess and that my son. I kept the gal the kid and the fish. Cooked it on your grill.

I guess other than a few... No one one really has seen me and my wife Andrea. @klinetime574, @Mr Tibbs and Mrs Tibbs, @T-ridecruiser... several others...

Here are the faces behind the madness....

Thanks all,

J & A

J-

Man, I would've lost a lot of money matching your voice to your face. When we've talked, I pictured you kind of like ole' mad wisdom might look but holy crap, you guys are wayyyyyy younger than I imagined. Wait. . .does that mean I'm older than I want to admit, hehe. Great pic - you and Andrea look good/happy and glad to put a face to the voice. But now that I've seen you - beard, hat & all crazy-eyed, our future conversations will b much more entertaining (or at least for me, lol).

BTW - is that Zion/Utah?

Glad to see all things coming together for you, J. . .much deserved.

YEP! Zion.

HEE HEE! I always have at least a gotee, either wear a ballcap or welder cap when working. Hardly ever without a cap otherwise.

Yeah, were good and happy, lots going on right now. We are a couple years apart and so are Andrea and I.

@reevesci
I'm sure this is too late into your move schedule, but I just came into an 8274 and will need a 40 bumper for it. I'll take one if you have one laying around, but don't make one just for me. I'm in no rush - that spot is currently occupied by my battery box, and my fenders are fiberglass, so I might just be stockpiling parts until the metal fenders go on, a 2F goes back in, and WAY too much money is spent on body work.

Or I can try to stuff it in the 80 ARB front.

John,

Do you just want a plain channel with 8274 mount? Want D rings?

I have one like this ready to go without D rings. I can add rings easy enough. We are still in limbo on the move, playing the contingency waiting game.

Prismatic Powders Black Frost with Lollipop Red top coat. The wife picked it out from the website and the powder coater knocked it out of the park! It looks fantastic, I'm just not sure it looks right on a gold rig.....

Just get some dirt/mud on it and you'll feel better about it. Does look like some quality work the PC shop did for you.
