These are the parts going into the 80.
Just sent a message to Longbow. I figured i could use the education. Thank you for the help!I would talk to longbow for re springing your valve body he has a good grasp on the internal workings . The flex plate cracking is where you might have problems I know when I was playing with my 1hdt I had issues with my t/c Dowel doughnut being to week and elongating causing vibration that fooled even the gurus ,had it reinforced and f 350 bands put in the t/c , a couple of years ago . none issue since . Good luck on your build all the same.
@Wheelingnoob, this might be a bit of faith between the diesel adapters kit including the comptroller and t/c upgrades. And the knowledge of the techs at diesel conversions. After all my questions,it appears they have a good grip in the problem and solution.. a good 1000 mile drive home should prove a worthy test! Or extra incredible adventureLongbow has done a bunch of of work on the A440 full hydrolic valve body, I'm not sure the same mods would work on the electric control A442 you have. Most the changes on that can be made with the controller.
I ended up going with a NV4500 behind my 6bt, I did not want to deal with adapting another transmission to a diesel. The NV4500 bolts right up just needed a adapter for the t case.@Wheelingnoob, this might be a bit of faith between the diesel adapters kit including the comptroller and t/c upgrades. I am excited to see if this lives up to expectations. I really wanted to keep the a442f. That being said, it appears most are going the 5 speed route. Did you ever play with these kits but duiser? What was your experience in keeping with the auto?I ended up going with a NV4500 behind my 6bt, I did not want to deal with adapting another transmission to a diesel. I did not, I piced together my own swap kit. I did use his nv4500 to HF2A adapter so I was able to maintain AWD.I am excited to see if this lives up to expectations. My last auto behind a diesel swap was an Isuzu.
I did not feel comfortable trusting the Toyota transmission behind the 6bt.[/QUOTE
I had some reservations at the start. With the early generation 6bt (not overtuned) coupled with the programmer/and t/c upgrades, I hope it will hold up. This is no question a beefy transmission. Far too much for the stock motor. Let's just hope this isn't over rotating.
Exhaust and final touches including the rear heater connections, battery, and a bunch of miles.. Then the drive home.
That is probably important! ; )-how about that I/C plumbing?
Is your snorkel plumbed in? On mine the snorkel diameter didn't bring in enough air to feed the Cummins so a hole had to be added to feed air into the air cleaner. When I sealed the hole for testing I had a bit of lag on the turbo. Your running a different air cleaner than me and it may let more air though the filter and work better with the snorkel.

It's a Donaldson air cleaner that uses a dual filter setup. It's probably not the best for flow but very good at filtering. This is the best photo I have at the moment. I have better photos of it hidden somewhere in my build thread. I can seal up the hole with a plate if I know I will be crossing deep water. It is plumbed in- I have read differing reports. I may have to create a variable mechanism that allows for more air flow that can be sealed when needed.
I also checked on getting a snorkel for my 6.7Cummins and was told by the boys in Australia (safari snorkels) it would not work with that motor , but would work with the early 5.9 due to airflow need ect.
This may be one of those tweak items. I thought about using a saw and cutting in a 4" hole and having a PVC cap to plug in the event of deep water/high dust.
At this time i have no reports of problems regarding airflow. I expect to hear more by end of the week. We should have the exhaust and all other items buttoned up.
Whats your box look like? (air box)
That is massive! Wow that is a clean conversion, its making me jealous. It's a Donaldson air cleaner that uses a dual filter setup. It's probably not the best for flow but very good at filtering. Mr.Cim, how do you connect to the snorkel? Is it vented elsewhere ?That is massive! Wow that is a clean conversion, its making me jealous.
how did you plumb the snorkle into that diesel adapters airbox? the opening in my airbox is an oval.
