While putting away all the stock parts that I replaced I found the boost control elbow that I forgot to install. It was a quick install but will wait til tomorrow morning to test drive. I also tightened up the hose on the turbo oil return line. It was coated in oil. It probably needs replacing.

I made some front bump stop extensions/sway bar disconnects. I use 60 series frame mounted bump stops instead of the inside the spring kind. If you didn't know the holes are there to add them. No modification required. The bump stop blocks/sway bar disconnects were made from square tubing that I got from a friends scrap pile. As you can see all i did was cut about 1/2" out of one end and welded it back together for a flat surface. Drilled three holes and I was done. Sway bar now can be unpinned and raised and repinned out of the way. Only difficult part was having to install/uninstall/measure a half dozen times. I found longer bolts in the bolt bucket so no cost there either. All it cost me was about $5 at Tractor Supply for the 3/8"x2" bolt pin and some hitch pins. Tomorrow afternoon I will paint them up and install.
If I didn't need bump stop extensions I would have probably just got Land Cruiser Phil's design. It does feel good to make something useful yourself though.

I did some pre Super Bowl mods since it turned out to be a nice day outside. Since I am running wire to the back for my fridge I figured it was a good time to add a fuse panel and usable accessories. Ordered a Blue Sea panel that should get here tomorrow. I plan to move my compressor to the panel and add 1 12v outlet, 1 USB outlet, 1 fridge connection and still have plenty open slots for the future.
I decided to repurpose the rear ashtray since I don't smoke or let people smoke in the truck. First I separated the ashtray from the face plate and cut the rear half of the ashtray bucket out. The "bucket section is what holds the faceplate in place. Then I cut a piece of sheet metal and riveted it to the face plate. Cut two holes for 12v and USB outlet and painted the new panel. Now the boys can plug their DVD player in and charge phones and not steal my front 12v outlet.

Ingenious sway bar disconnect and ashtray ideas!
Thanks! Usually when I have ideas I don't have time to follow through on them. Lately I have been making time and it's been really great to finally get some ideas out of my brain. I'm looking ahead for my Big Bend trip in a couple weeks and trying to get things prepped.

Good to meet you tonight! Thanks for coming. I just spent waaaaay too much time reading through your thread. Badass man! Wish I could have seen it in person.

Love them. Haven't had time to fiddle with anything yet but everything seems good at the moment. 4K are overkill but they were same price as 3K. Everything I did would have been much easier with engine out. My back still is hurting from valve spring install.

Today I placed my conversion kit order with Dustin. Tomorrow I go to pick up a p-pumped 6BT and an NV4500. I am going to be mating the NV4500 to the HF2AV xfer case.

If you plan any power upgrades do them before the engine goes in. I would also change out the oil pan seal and do KDP fix while it out as well.

I am planning on replacing oil pan, rear main, crank and valve cover seals, KDP and potentially the governor spring and fuel plate.

The nice thing about the valve covers is they are reusable. Mine were replaced during conversion. When I did valve springs I cleaned them off and they still looked brand new.

Cimarron - did you use a dodge master and slave cylinder? Was it for the year of your trans? Do you know if any mods had to be make the clutch pedal assembly in order to get the toyota pedals to work with the dodge master?

Toyota master and pedals with dodge slave. Just a thread adapter needed for the master I believe.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks.
Found a few photos that I had on my phone. Out of town at the moment but I will try to remember to snap some of the clutch/brake pedal contraption when I get back home.

Nice! What year? Looks like it has the fuel bowl type filter which I believe was 97 & 98.
