Oz there's a bloke called David who runs Treasured Transport who can do the job, though not til he gets a whole car to go with it. But he's requested lifting gear at your end. Are you tooled up with an engine crane at all?

I can get my hands on one but how high is the tray as these engines are heavy and lifting it up that high would be tricky on my driveway on a slight slope. I need to give you a call so we can work this out with your mates truck.

Yeah mate give us a shout.

Oh bugger, that was you? I was cleaning the shower haha. Shoulda left a message old cock!

I been buzzing your mate with the truck and it always go's to message bank.
I just brought a hj75 so give me a few weeks to get it back from north QLD and put rego on it and I will bring the engine up.

Jeez you're up early oz. Where from in NQ? I think old mate is in and out of range a lot. He does answer my facebook messages though.

My back is a taking it's sweet time to heal, but I reckon I'll be back to full steam in less than a week. I'd appreciate the engine mission to Brisbane, but I can't even offer you a bed. I'm staying in a mates lounge while I save up for my house deposit. But I can help in other ways. We'll just have to figure something out.

There's a couple of other options through. One is that depending on the overall height of the engine and crane I could slot it into the back of my BJ74. It's got loops bolted to the floor for ratchet straps. The other option is there's a gal I know that's always buying 40's and 45's from all over the place. If she gets one down your way you could score the tow and I'd pay you the freight and you might make a quid.

Anyway, as always, let's let time march on and we'll play it by ear. Thanks again old mate

All good mate no need for a bed its only a few hour drive up the coast just chuck in some fuel money and its all good. I best get the truck and make it ready for the blue slip then we can plan our attack with the engine delivery. :)

Copy that old son. If you let me know of any 45/47 parts you need I can start the hunt now?

What you need is the universal engine transport module. Also known as an old spare tire.

And the roof on those bj74 comes off. I know its a lot of work, but where there's a will theres a way.

How bout you and Pete swing by Moorooka and give me a hand..? ;)

The Brisbane chapter of the 'Mud army to the rescue! Soon as I know, you lads will know

So another bloke I don't know offered a free, but running mid-years F to me. It's got low comp apparently, 100+/- across all cylinders. He's just gonna junk it if I don't take it and I was thinking it could eventually donate its crank to my block - assuming it's not completely fkd. Going to grab it Sunday. We're a tight band of brothers in the 40 world.

Great news on another F donation hopefully its been a well maintained engine so crank cam and rockers are good on this engine.
