it must be said that both father and son were proud of their cruiser and keen to discuss. Cult was like the kid in the candy store, grinning from ear to ear, at least he was when i could see him, most of the time he was lodged somewhere uncomfortable, snapping off pics

These are the guys who did the roadworthy certificate on the troopy - its first in about 25 years. I reckon their enthusiasm for cruisers worked well for me - all they got me for was 2 new tyres and the window washer pump! i guess it also shows how well the PO looked after it - hope i can do as well.

Yeah 84 I reckon that stood you in good stead. And for a pair of blokes who'd been held at gun point at beer o'clock they were pretty obliging!

A few posts back I said I had a line on a '65 45, complete and original but with a bit of frame rust. Well the bloke keeps ringing me cause no one will take it. I'd grab it but I've got nowhere for it, don't have the time to go see it and can't get it home. And can't afford it, really. Is anyone keen?

He's after a grand. Which is a grander figure than I think it's worth, but probably not grand enough in his eyes. Still, a grand in the hand is worth two in the bush. Or so they say.

a grand for a cruiser? cant go too wrong if its all there. worst you can do is break it up and sell the good parts (or keep them), but my pocket is a bit too small for to much extensive restoration:(

Well Indestructible me new mate I reckon it go plenty wrong when you start talking reciprocating parts [engines], but you'd hope she was all good. Hopefully to whoever is lucky [?] enough to inherit this oldie is smiled upon by the Cruiser Gods :)

hopefully it will not see a scrap yard or crusher. one that is lost is irreplaceable and its happening to often.

BTW if you see a 47 lying about could you please give me a shout? I never get in quick enough on gumtree and the likes....:bang: and all the good ones go....

Righto mate, will do. Are you on the 'Australian 40 series Landcruisers' page on Facebook? Also the '40 SERIES LANDCRUISER OWNERS', the 'Australian 40,50,60,70,80,100,200 series Landcruiser Owners' and the '40 42 45 47 series land cruiser' pages too. Always stuff for sale.

They're all Facebook pages.

facebook is like underwear............. its for other people
That underwear donated me two bezels, a grille and two leather harness joiners..

bit of a hot weekend we have here so I was sitting in the shade researching some old S.E.A. stuff (southern electric authority) before seqeb which was before energex. my grandad worked and retired for them long long ago

was checking out what that copter was doing, how many feet would be in that pole and something odd yet familiar caught my eyeball about that fj40 down in the corner, WAIT A MINUTE that's a early fj45 fixed top not only that but has a factory rear tub :).

this is interesting stuff for me to know that some had the factory tub on them which means there chassis weren't extended.
now was this 45 owned by the s.e.a. qld or the copter company from Sydney I don't know, it would add more pieces to this wonderful puzzle of chassis extensions if I did.

not my photo! for research only 1967 lamington national park connecting power to o'reillys

Henry, I shared that view but there's an active 40 community and it's found me some difficult to source parts....downside, lots of folks with checker plate fetishes...the less said about that the better.

Love that 64!

Well cat me old, nice pic, nice yarn and nice spot! Yep, she's a FHT with a factory SWB bed, the same as the one I posted recently on one of wests many threads. I tell you what, those were the days. No OH & S, no JSA's and the thump thump of a Bell 47 above and the idle of an early F beside. Cool pic. And a stronger case for what we thought were rare SWB models.

oz that's a factory SWB style bed on a 45. The yanks got them with every SWB truck, but I think we only got about two ;)
If you're super keen oz there's a living example inside Cooma Toyota.
