Hj47 and dirt bikes ya say cult
Yeah. Just got home. Spent all night coaming the streets for 47's and YZ's. A little tired but it was worth it.

heck, glad I wasn't in town;)
So's she ;)

Got a few hours in today. Housemate Michael cleared the inside of my doors. More wet lollipop I'd say. Had been searching and searching for a rust free rear panel until I looked a little closer to home: the '70 has the best one I've seen that isn't half a week's wages. The roof I'm still umming and ahhing about. But I have options. Will clean up the rear panel tomorrow. Picked up brake hard lines today also. Very cheap too. Oh and lastly, someone felt sorry for me and sent me a present.

I'm going to gun hard for this to be all reassembled and driving by the end of Easter. I think it's doable. Left to do is:

~ Old cab off.
~ Pressure wash and paint frame under cab.
~ Run brake hard lines.
~ New cab on.
~ Re-fit everything.
~ Drive.

haha, cult lucky night out. looks tidy from here, keep up the good work, so shiny though:clap:

also do you have a hot water blaster? takes grime off no worries..

Spent a little time yesterday. Too tired at day's end to update.

Got rear panel stripped down, minor rust cut out, treated, primed and painted. Will need some minor fill work prior to getting 416'd.
Got roof washed and cleaned. Bolts cleaned and lubed and installed.
Got above door panel things washed, cleaned, 416'd and bolts lubed and installed.
Interior light disassembled, cleaned, lubed and re-installed.
Housemate cleared the steering wheel the day prior so it got baked all day in the sun.
More fill work on dash surgery. Detail work at this stage. Final standard will be reached if no one will be able to tell.
Got hinge pin bushes in! I'm almost certain this will be the thing that will transform the truck. And so cheap too!

Can't wait for Easter so I can go at it all day e'ryday til it's done!

Got above door panel things bolted to the roof, rubber in between and a bit of sikaflex for good luck.

I think I'm gonna run out of things to do before Deano arrives Monday for the cab swap. Nonetheless..

There's that great big hole. Not sure what to do with that yet, at this stage just avoiding it.

Got a few hours in today after a much needed sleep in. Some brake hard lines plumbed, but others need to go back as old mate at the brake shop and I must have got our fittings crossed.

Also found a solution to the unobtanium cowl vent formed drain pipe. Ugly but will work.

Housemate has put clear off by a day or two, which puts off my Easter deadline. Plus I may have been a bit adventurous in setting that. Many parts are cleaned, painted, polished and/or cleared ready to go in. Just need front of cab cleared, outside of doors cleared, gauge cluster panel, glove box lid, ashtray etc cleared. Wiring finished being pulled from donor. Cab swap. Reassembly.

Ready to install.

Pulled harness into engine bay. Pulled old tape, cleaned with contact cleaner and re-taped. All that's left is to undo front two cab mounts and two front left guard bolts and swap over the cabs - clear should be happening this week. Was supposed to happen today until it started raining.

Cult old mate your going like a man possessed glad to see you had a day off. Well hope you had a day off with some amber beverage. ;)

Thanks Brian. Don't wanna get caught with my pants down and have to sell as an unfinished project. Oh the shame..

So this just happened.

Yeah I will, just sayin I gotta moooooooove on the reassembly is all. Imagine if I got the call up 'hey, you're leaving in three weeks' and the damn thing is still in pieces? There's only so many cups of coffee you can drink in a Qld autumn.

Dropped a few hours in today. Got rear glass in. Turns out the corner glass is handed.

Got dash parts cleared and in.

When I first bought the truck the tray was 'on the piss' aka crooked. It looked like the Hunchback or Notre Dame. Swapped a few shims around today and now she sits dead level.

IMG_5062.webp

Also moved one latch down in preparation for the tray reduction. Gonna lose the top board and make it a slimline tray.

Also got some of the fence headboard cut in preparation for the headboard redesign. No pics.
