@whitey45 He's gonna be staying here working on cruiser to pay for his room LOLOL YOU need to make a trip south

haha, just one or two of the V's would be enough.

You should take a 75 series troopy with you and flip it before you come back. Or use it driving to and from set!

What's a HDJ79 going for in $USD these days?

Rob I know you, and this is a legitimate question - not a joke haha. So for you mate you can have all the space left over in my luggage, though Alistair has requested a 1HD-T turbo flange. But in addition to that I can organise parts here and get them shipped prior to heading over. The slow boat is a bit of a wait but will be cheaper.

I thought you may be taking your clean bj74 over the pond with you. ;)
Not gonna lie mate, I'm considering offering it for sale in the US. An imported BJ74 has no loyalties here in Aus, unlike our AU delivered earlies that seem to be disappearing. Just got to feel out if someone would be interested in a low-mileage BJ74 w/PTO in the good ole US of A..

I'm sure they would be as it's in great condition. Need some photo's mate. :)
When it's time to sell I'll post some pics. I suppose the advantage to the buyer is that I could literally hand deliver the car.

Lazy day today.

- new fuel pump in
- battery relocated under tray
- new-to-me tank installed only to discover the filler necks don't match #dieseltank
- looked at the engine for a bit
- some other stuff I can't recall

Went to install my new-to-me tank yesterday. Guess what? It's a diesel tank. But clean inside, whistle clean. But it was white. So today I painted'er up and installed'er anyway. Kept the original filler and cap on the outside, just turned the new tank filler a bit more vertical - you've just gotta put the fuel bowser inside the cab now is all. Given the sheer redneckness of this entire build, this pretty much fits right in.

Left to do:

1. Plumb in existing aftermarket oil pressure gauge.
2. Plumb in aftermarket water temp gauge.
3. Bleed and adjust clutch.
4. Bleed brakes.
5. Attach accelerator cable to carb.
6. Route plug leads correctly.
7. Gear oil in gearbox.
8. Fuel.
9. Oil.
10. Little wiring ~ not my job.
10a. Install UHF ready for auto sparky.
11. Drill fan shroud holes one more time.
12. Fire engine. Discover problems.
13. Recycle old exhaust into new twin system.

The tank looks so good that it doesn't belong.

Southern style filler solution!

I chose to install the white stick instead of the original black one. The dog leg in it is just too cool.

The fuel return line [clear line] plumbed into the fuel line via brass tee just before the fuel pump. Not sure if this a good idea [not that I know how it was plumbed in on the donor car] but I'll run it and see what happens. The return line is a good 4" off the exhaust manifold.

Gas pedal cable needs to attach here on Q Jet. I've got a reliable but ugly fix for this, but I also have the parts off the original Aisin carb so I may make that work somehow. Be nice to have something half-engineered, as opposed to half-arsed engineered.
