You've been busy! How come you need to do the tank again, just from sitting around?

I know what its like to be working towards an invisible deadline, but sometimes you just need to forget it and enjoy the process.

Oh I enjoyed it all. You have to. A lot of my humour is tongue in cheek. It makes for a better story by stretching the truth a little ie. cursing every time something goes wrong haha. I actually think I'm gonna be bored with this thing in a drivable state sneaky. I've already started looking at more mods haha. Tell you what though, I am keen to meet you and Pete for a beer somewhere when all three trucks are driving. How far off are you?

Getting rego tomorrow.

Pete was keen for a catch up the weekend of the 9/10 January
Oooooh, that all depends on my auto-sparky mate. Also self-testing for a massive budget film in the UK throughout January, so that takes priority. And I am not turning up in my BJ74 again! Sick of doing that when Pete turns up in his damn 47 the bastard. Keen to see your truck though. I love that thing.

Took the alternator off today in an attempt to remount on the pax side to see if I could get the stock battery tray back in it's factory location. No dice - header's in the way. Have to get him under the tray.

Also solved my radiator inlet/outlet on the wrong side with 2" gal exhaust pipe, a handful of rubber bends and a cut-off wheel.

I'd attach pics but 'Mud won't let me.

Success! Just gotta do it from ya phone!

Here's the Mark Adaptor's kit. It uses the Toyota bell housing as well. Pretty handy, saves a firewall chop or a heater removal.

Lastly, before I fly home for Christmas I'm gonna set up a home electrolysis rig to clean the inside of the tank. Then when I return, I'm gonna have a go at replating it in copper using the same rig. Apparently it's a piece of cake.

BJ42 battery tray is on the passenger side.
Thanks mate but same problem - header in the way. Think I'll get some angle iron and badly weld up a sneaky one under the pax side tray. Weight distribution and all.

Did you get rego for Christmas?

Did a lot today, starting with a trip down to REPCO. Turns out they were having a 25% off sale. BOOM.

New plugs and leads; fuel pump; gear oil [lost during tailshaft reinstallation]; in line fuel filters x 2; exhaust wrap;

Installed new plugs.
Plumbed in fuel filters.
Plumbed fuel return line into inbound fuel line.
Nipped up handbrake-firewall situ.
Removed fuel pump in preparation for replacement.
Installed PCV rebreather hose.
Capped off heater hoses.

Also went down to Bunnings: rubber sheet; domed-headed bolts, nuts and washers for battery relocation; cute girl whose number I didn't get.

Cut rubber sheet to space up air cleaner from carb base.

Actually now that I list it off it's pretty pitiful effort.

Shoulda got the girls number mate!!
Haha I know. Rookie mistake. Hey mate I'm gonna be in Cali early '16, gonna try and swing by a few of you fellas if I can.
