Recent biz trip to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil took me to the Latin America Defense Trade Show. I was surprised that Toyota had booth there. Didn't see to many Land Cruisers on the streets, only a couple of older FJ40s, a pick up Toyota Bandeirante (newer model Brazilian built FJ40/45) a couple of Prado's but a ton of Hilux and SW4s, which appears to be a smaller derivative of the Toyota Surf or 4 Runner. Here are a few pics of a new SW4. Oh yea.. and Kite Surfing is big out there!

LOL.. Brazilians have a very high confidence level.. I got lucky on this pic. But all sizes, shapes and genders wear very little when on the beach.

I have rock dings in the company truck's windshield that look just like those kites,

Just got home with a new/previously used member to the family. Has to be one of the most comfortable rigs I have driven. Hard time coming up with the words, but "Fits like a glove" comes to mind.

Was that the one we looked at the Carfax? I bet it is, that was probably one of the cleanest and apparently well kept 4Runners Ive seen in a while!

Yes and thank you Murf. I have been going though it fine comb for a road trip through southern Utah this summer, nothing more than some marginal belts and while I am at it, hoses.

I picked up a 99 in Nov. last year. Spur of the moment purchase. Never even drove it before hand. Just started and seen the timing belt sticker under the hood. Belonged to a military family who the husband was already in Guam and wife was leaving in a few weeks after finishing a medical school. People were calling while I was there (price was right) and my gut said buy it. Murf ran a Carfax as well as a build sheet a few days later and confirmed what my gut told me. It has done nothing but impress me since. What was bought as a throw away for my youngest to drive while going to school (she bailed on that) turned into becoming my main driver. I ended up using last weekend on the Casner Mtn run. Besides handling the trail it did great on the hill climb out of Black Canyon City on the way up and hill out of Camp Verde on the way back. So far trhe 3.4 is proving to be a great engine. Only issues is it doesn't have the rear E-locker and isn't the correct CSC color like yours.

This one has the 2.7. It actually moves out it's own way just fine, I am pleasantly surprised. And it's 2wd which is a good thing, the 40 won't get neglected...

While wheeling, I take every opportunity to do preventative maintenance. This time, I was rotating my rear tires left/right and doing a brake inspection. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

That 25 has been around for a while. Another buyer beware. Lot of things not original. Can't tell on my phone is that a shackle reverse on the front. US did not get 162 of only 250 made. Way more then 250 of them made.
