Cruizing the Parkway Sat Oct 13th ***********************

Had a great time this weekend. Was good seeing some new as well as old faces. Pisgah Inn was great with a great view. The ride to Mt Mitchell alone the Blue Ridge was really cool. Driving the 80 instead of the 40 made a big difference in comfort. The weather couldn't have been any better. The views from Mt MItchell were undescribable. You just have to be there to appreciate the views. I wish I could take the smell home with me. After hanging around at the top most went there own way. Some went to the restaurant and had some desert.

Becca and I continued the vacation weekend and stayed the night in Biltmore Village. We ate at a great mexican restaurant we found a few years ago. La Paz has some great food. Woke up the next morning and went and ate brunch at Grove Park Inn. Great food but at $50 a person was probably the last time we will do that. We then headed over to Black Mountain and into Montreat. I hadn't been there in 25 years but nothing has changed. Even got to do a little wheeling on a road in there that ended up ending and went to dirt and a few little climbs.

All in all Becca and I kept saying to ourselves that this was a great weekend and a great way to finish off our anniversary. Looking forward next year.

It was very nice meeting all of you out there, and putting some faces to screen names. Very nice group of people. That was some beautiful scenery. My girlfriend and I hiked about an hour to an adjacent peak, and the views were amazing. The first pic is the view of the parking lot at Mt. Mithchell.

It was great meeting you and your girlfriend. Nothing like hopping out of a vehicle and the first person you meet knows what kind of vehicle you are driving!!

Hey David,
It was great, I had been keeping an eye out for you guys all day and right when we were walking down the stairs to go hiking, there y'all were. I was very excited that I got to meet with y'all, and will for sure let you guys know when Im going out there again, hopefully sooner than later. It is just so beautiful out there.

My wife and I had a great time, from camping the night before at Pisgah to eating (for the second time in as many days) at the Pisgah Inn to the amazing views from Mt. Mitchell aka Black Dome. We definately had fun with you guys, and are looking forward to doing more with UC.......

Sorry I missed this....I was on a Mini-Excavator all day moving dirt trying to get ready for an event in Black Mountain for the Clubhouse we are building for a new community.

It was good to get out of the office, but I would have much rather been cruising with you guys!!!
