Cruising Wall Street (got some pics)

There are two cruisers outside of the stock exchange. A pristine 40 (with TLC license plate frame and sticker) and a beautiful green/white 55. Both are marked "J Crew" and "Flip Flop Delivery" in honor of the J Crew IPO today.

I didn't have my camera, will try to go take pictures with my cell phone in a little bit.

Anyone else work downtown and have a camera?

I'm close but I ain't walking down there!

Going to pick up my 60 now... finally.

Now like this afternoon? That's great! You should have a blast with it this weekend. Mine was supposed to land on saturday, now they're telling me tuesday. Over the last couple of days, I've gotten 100 feet of vacuum hoses and a bunch of manuals from toyota. Just ordered ~$500 worth of brakes, filters, and miscellaneous parts from Cruiser Dan yesterday, so one of these weekends I'm going to get to tear into mine.

Take pics of the truck when you get it.

Yep, taking the 2:35 outta Penn to scenic Newark!

Will post some pix over the weekend once I get it out to it's final home.

Ok, went and snapped some pics - sorry for the quality, cell phone camera.

Sweeeeeeeeeet 55!!! dam that thing is clean!!
love that stock classic look!!! really hard to see both models in such a great shape.
Nice 40 also...

Yeah, they were both unbelievably clean. Definitely a pair I could see in my driveway. Literally shining paint, clean shackles/springs, perfect interiors.

Maybe I'll drive my 60 down there and park it next to them!

Oh wait, it's not green.

WOW!

Nice, I wonder how many people walking by know what the vehicles are.

Most of the Wall Street guys are probably saying "Hey, nice Jeeps..."

Mike, you're on double secret probation until we see some pics. How was it yesterday driving?

Both trucks were gone today, which begs the question - whose were they? Were they just being rented? The 40 had CA plates and teh TLC info, but the 55 had NY plates. where are they now? maybe they threw them away after the market closed and I just missed my chance.

Beaufort, there's definite interest in J Crew - traded up a couple points yesterday, kind of stagnant today. But it's such a good brand, and so widely known, that I think it'll get a lot of momentum just from that. Plus, I think the company actually does well financially.

The 40 belongs to Jonathan at TLC 4x4. It was used in a J Crew cataloug recently. There was a little blurb about the vehicle included. They called it ultra rare, or something to that effect, which is a bit of a stretch IMO.

I've seen another catoloug of their which featured a 45 series pickup. Wonder why that was not with the others yesterday?

for hire:

ATTENTION WALL STREET TYPES!

my 1984 60 series, with faded red paint and custom bondo can be used for
any advertising purpose you desire.
all i ask in return is that you return in in its original faded, bondo'd shape
( and maybe a few buck towards my, maybe soon, FJC )

Yeah TLC does good work

good work=expensive

I remember a few years back........TLC had a 55 on display at the LA Auto Show

and I about wet my pants when I saw it......it was the most beautiful thing I ever saw.

that moment right there started me on my Cruiser Quest............after much research I decided on the 60

still get a strong pulse when I see a 55 tho.............

I'll have some pix up next week when I get the truck to it's final home.

TLC has done a number of trucks for J Crew...

even an Icon. The tan pick-up was the first.
Last time I was there, they were prepping the fjc's for use by the Trail Teams.
