This looks like a fun event for 100, 200, 300 series. I'm planning on going out there for LCDC the following week but this one is tempting.

Confirmed:

@prharper
@Boomstick
@Sargy
@DC470
@Pulgasari

^^ Anyone else in the club going?

I will be out there for Solid Axle Summit 8 just after that. If you are still around we should catch up. I plan to be in Ouray on the August 4th. Going to take a hot air ballon ride in Colo Springs early that morning and then head over the mountain. I have an RV site. I am sure we can make room for you. I am staying at the KOA.

Also going out for LCDC. I saw this and thought it looked really good too. Thinking of just running both back to back?

Yep, it's tempting to do both if I can get away from work that long and an extended hall pass from my wife. The later is the biggest challenge.

That's also tempting. I'm barely able to sell my wife on LCDC again this year. Throwing in COTR would be a huge accomplishment granted I would never hear the end of it. Not ruling it out yet.
Extending my stay for Solid Axle Summit would result in divorce or me living in my Land Cruiser for the foreseeable future!

I need to figure out my schedule. I have a similar predicament with work, however not married for better and worse lol

Just be glad you're skinny and fit in more places. This is for the big wagons. Nothing wrong with unique events for specific models. There are 40 series meet ups, 70 meet ups, GXOR meet ups, 4Runner meet ups. Etc. Aint no thing. Plenty of events, besides if you did the right thing and bought one of each model of Yota truck like any good mudder does, you'd be able to attend all of the events. It is your own fault for not doing that so get on it.

I would be tentatively interested in COTR if other people from the general East Coast area are going...

LCDC seems cool too, but I guess it's just for 200s?

I would be interested in heading out there as well. I have to manage some logistics before I can commit. That is a 30 hour drive... for those who have done it, do you do it all hopped up on redbull and coffee... straight cannonball run? Do you break it up into two 15 hour days? 3 days? What has this group done when getting out there and coming back?

I don’t know if LCDC is only 200s. I am going out for that but not sure about COTR. Would be awesome to have a nice run from the DC area to CO.

Just asked in the LCDC thread and was told to go to COTR...

So I'd be down to do COTR if other people are convoying out that week, would have to know soonish though since I think slots are filling up. Guy I bought my 470 from is also going and kindly offered to pay for my ticket.

I drove to California and back and 10-12 hours is usually my daily limit if I'm going solo, but 15+ hours a day is easy if there are multiple drivers per truck. COTR starts late on a Wednesday, so it should be possible to leave Monday evening, drive for a few hours, then do the rest of the trip on Tuesday/Wednesday.

I plan on joining this event with Elisa. I met a few of the organizers at Enrique's wedding and it seemed like a good year to make it happen. Leaving southern MD on July 20th and plan on getting into Silverton by the 23rd. On the way back, I'll stop in Kansas City for a week, then fly out to Long Beach for work. My wife takes the rest of the trip from KC back to MD.

I just purchased my ticket for this. Not sure when, how, etc. but wanted to reserve my spot.
Right on! Figure out where to stay yet ?

Hi guys,
I plan on being at Cruisers on the Rockies and will be one of the trail leaders there. Having gone out to the area every summer for the last 4 years, I still get that same excitement of being in the mountains. I can't thank @ga12r1 enough and his wife for getting this event rolling. See you guys out there.

Friendly reminder to @prharper and @Boomstick that we secured the Kendall Mountain Recreation Area. That is at the base of beautiful Kendall Mountain and features a huge lodge and meeting facility surrounded by a large field for camping. Plenty of space to camp everyone registered and only minutes away from the town center

Nice. I just registered. Now I need to find the right time to let my wife know that I'm going to be gone a bit longer than previously communicated. Have LCDC after this one. Wish me luck.

How is cell or Starlink reception? I may have to sit some runs out or try to catch a group to accommodate work calls, but would love to make this happen.

Cell service in town and at the lodge is great, no issues. As soon as your outside of town or on the trails, very little to none. I heard Starlink works great out there.

I am on the waitlist for LCDC.
