One note about trails, everyone always loves to do the alpine loop, black Bear, and Imogene
Pass, but last year at LCDC I took one day to do some of the lesser traveled basins and gulches. I highly recommend checking some of them out. A few can only accommodate a smaller group at the end though.

Lee, I might even consider leading a group through some of these one of the days…

Yeah man you are right. There's so much to explore in the area besides the big name trails. We actually had a "Exploring the Gulches" run available last year, It was a dealers (trail leaders) choice of the gulches along CR2. I can't remember if we did it just one day or all 3 but I'm all about putting out there again. I'm glad you volunteered :p

Thanks? I mean, Thanks!

I did it for LCDC last year… tail gunned Poughkeepsie and then split off a smaller group after lunch at Lake Como. I’d led trails for the last 6 or 7 LCDC. Happy to continue the tradition a do a gulches run.

Speaking of, those doing the Alpine Loop, make sure you break off and visit American Basin. I did the loop a few times and never did that side trail because usually it’s late in the day, but I did it 2 years ago and it’s a great spot at the end.

So how does the potluck night work? Is there some kind of sign up so you don’t just get 200 bags of Doritos?

I feel attacked. 😂

It magically just kinda works. There’s probably a few more desserts than you’d plan for but plenty of folks are excited to share their recipes and plenty of people bring other food.

And now I guess we know you’re bringing Doritos. You’ll be getting wherever leftovers I have in my fridge after 10 days on the road though, so I hope you like leftover breakfast sausages, pancakes, beans, and old salad. 🤣

On that topic, I'd love to throw my Hasty Bake on my hitch and smoke some meat down there, but I'm not sure how well that'll go at 9,300ft.

If you’re not sure, that sounds to me like an experiment you need to run…

I'm thrilled to announce that this year, we will be offering day rides to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool at Cruisers on the Rockies! If you're searching for a fun family outing away from the trails, this is the perfect opportunity. Enjoy swimming and soaking in the pools, freshen up with a shower, and explore the charming town of Ouray—all while taking in the breathtaking views along the Million Dollar Highway.
It's gonna be a blast!!!
