I think I remember years ago people saying you needed a map from a gas station near by might have been a buck or two and it was the ticket fee or whatnot for the day. We used to go in the Helena side with the gun range but it's been ten years since I was last out there. Got caught in a bad thunderstorm made for some interesting situations on the trails when we went.

I literally just googled "Cahaba Wilderness Management Area Map" and all kinds of crap came up... including the first link was the map and below mentioned "ticket fee"...

seems that permit is for hunting. Surely they aren't fining folks for NOT hunting...

Haha
Last time I was out there I was much younger and we drank way to much. It was the friday night after Johnny cash died.

I have only been out there a handful of times but never hunted. I do remember once they parked a couple tractors in the middle of the road blocking us at the shooting range, I had to drive way to close to a drop off to get out, we figured the guys went on lunch or something.

Fun place to ride I remember

I'm more of an obstacles/park kinda guy. But realize I'm in the minority at DLC.

I've got a key to a lot of the yellow gates in the WMA, but I think they have since changed their locks. I've worked my way around the area quite a bit. I've never run into a game warden or gotten a ticket. There are some groups of people out there that sure do know how to ruin the area for everyone. I just try to stick to the areas I know or somewhat know and try not to tear up the place.

kinda late notice... But anyone wanna meet up this Saturday morning?

Not sure about the WMA cruisin, but just a coffee/breafass meet. Folks could definitely do whatever afterwards. But I have a horse race to watch tomorrow afternoon.

I'd probably be up for it. I'm going to Brewfest tonight, so assuming I make it out of bed by a decent time, I likely could use something greasy to eat in the morning.
