Virginia beach Va. Bump,to DIA Automotive on Viking. Phil did an awesome job on my rig a few weeks back and she now steers and tracks down the highway like a 2015 LANDCRUISER. Phil is owns an FJ62 so he's afflicted like the rest of us. Great shop and a good guy that knows what he's doing with an alignment rack.

Also wrote a more in depth review on another thread of you want more detail.

I see that Alaska has no entries...
I run a shop in AK and wouldn't mine my listing it if deemed fit.
I have extensive experience with Toyota's, own several Celica's and Corolla's (mostly for racing purposes), several pickups, and have owned and wrenched on an '84 FJ 60. I currently own a 1989 FJ 62.
Shop is at Mile Post 304 Parks Highway.
B & J Services, shop phone is 907-832-1803.
Myself (Jay) and Bill run the place (he, unfortunately, is a Nissan fan).

Just spoke with John at SD Trux and he told me they no longer service 40s or 60s. Sad day.
Anybody have any other suggestions in San Diego to service an '86 FJ60 besides 'The Truck Shop'?

Anyone know of anyone in Piedmont area of North Carolina? (Winston-Salem, Greensboro Highpoint, etc)

I searched the thread and didn't see much regarding NC..

Eh... depends on how much you want to drive... There is Mark from Mark's Off Road but think he is way south of you or Georg @ Valley Hybrid in Stockton. I cant think of anyone else inbetween.

Looking for a mechanic in Maryland.. There was a guy named Matt in Annapolis,MD that was working on LC. Any Suggestions.

I suggest anyone looking for professional guidance and anyone in Maryland / D.C. / Virginia / West Virginia consult the guys at Iron Pig Offroad in Fredericksburg Virginia. I wasted time with three other local shops attempting to gain an honest assessment and to pass inspection, but the reality is that their knowledge was lightyears behind the guys at IPOR. Lance, Tim and Jack work faster, provide better communication, and their depth of knowledge is unparalleled. They did an excellent job with repairs to my FJ62, but also diagnosed a couple of issues resulting from the last shop's work. These guys are very generous with their time too. Once you see the customer (and owner) vehicles including 40's and 60's and rock crawling beasts down there either already rebuilt or at various stages of frame swap, engine swap etc. ... you will see their vast experience comes from working on these models every single day. Two things:

An adjustment to your current list is that Craig at Village Exxon in Virginiais no longer there. He is a mobile mechanic now that also has a shop. His # is (804) 441-1782

Also, a new addition to Virginia and I take my 78 FJ40 to Independent 4X. The mechanic is Matt and is a great guy he drives a 75 FJ40. They are in Asland Va

I've been taking my 87 fj60 to Pat for a couple of years. He has lots of experience with Land Cruisers and always has been fair on pricing with me

RT Customs in Irving. Randy is focused on 40/60 series and vortec conversions. He does have a shop, but keep in mind that this is his side job so he works on a schedule. He is very skilled in working on the Toyotas and is especially good at tackling the jobs where people drop off a box of parts with a chasis and expect it to be put together RIGHT.

He worked on all my cars, including my fleet and the 80 series. He had rewired my car after another mechanic "accidentally" burned it down. Traced the short when another mechanic "messed" up and blame it on the car being old.

His website: RT Customs

anybody know if he is still in business? website isn't working... thanks!

A vote here for Top Line Performance. Just had my '67 40 checked over by Mario over there. Real good guy, took good care of me and didn't even charge me for a look over. He works on lots of land cruisers and seems to know them well. Highly recommend if you're anywhere near Huntington Beach!

Regarding the mechanics listed in the DFW area, who would you guys recommend specifically for installing an OME lift?

We need one more land cruiser shop in Washington....in Tacoma! I am residing in the area. I would not mind working for a shop that repairs land cruisers. my frame also needs work done.
