How old? I’ve done a handful of 69-72’s. Burlap, batting and foam from Hobby Lobby or Joann Fabric.
In my experience, the Cruiser Corps covers fit “fine”. Little extra material in some areas, a little less in some. They work and look good when done. The cruiser benches are a very easy seat to recover.

Have you ever recovered seats before?

good info:

Okay I will. I have the body off the frame. I just welded in roll bar mounts and modified the mounting for the long bench seats to mount them to the roll bar. I figured I would paint and recover all the seats before I paint the tub

I used their rear seat covers last year. I tried using what I thought was the original horsehair padding and they didn’t fit at all. So much so the I thought they somehow sent wrong ones.
I bought foam kits from Spector and then they fit fine. Literally no skill involved (I have none) and just a JIS tip screwdriver is all you need.
I would get the straps to hold the seat bottoms up while you’re doing them though.
I guess I don’t have any pictures of them complete, only folded.

Thanks they look great. JIS tip where do you get them?
I got mine off Amazon. Actually, I got the screws from cruiser corps or Spector, they’re probably regular old Phillips tip.
But a decent set of JIS screwdrivers is essential for working on these trucks, and any Japanese vehicle, really.

I just started my seats today. Bought some 1”, 2” and cylindrical foam from the Foam factory. The springs in my driver’s seat are pretty shot so I put the cylindrical foam in the springs and also ran a piece of the 2” foam between the springs for support. I used a 17”x16” piece of foam on top of the 15 year old SOR seat foam. It’s now nice and firm and doesn’t collapse.

The white cloth is cotton batting from Hobby Lobby.

Will reinstall the driver’s seat tomorrow and work on the passenger bench seat. The Cruiser Corps seat covers are much thicker than the SOR ones, and those lasted 15 years. Fit seems to be good. The upper seat back was pretty shot too. I used some safety wire to fix two of the springs then put a couple layers of the 2” foam in the void between the springs and the metal rear plate.

I need to do this foam trick.

My springs are super weak. At 200lbs I easily bottom out on the seat pan.

I’m about the same weight and was bouncing off the bottom plate. This foam is fairly dense and I cut two pieces of the 2” foam, 3.5” high and about 17” long. I threaded them between the springs from front to back on the 2 outer rows (under my arse). Will let you know tomorrow how it drives.
