Behind The Rocks

So how does it compare with Golden Spike?

Here are a few pics sent to me from Carey, a fella that rode shotgun with me on Behind The Rocks.

If there are too many I can get rid of some.

Notice the new Slee "Shortbus" front bumper in Graham's first picture. That is a sweet bumper and was designed for the Warn 9.5

For those that have not done the waterfall at the exit to Kane's Creek, it is not as easy as David and Graham make it look in those pictures. I believe the red Rubicon you see at the top in the last picture was crippled trying to make it up right before the Cruisers got there.

Busted axle or something like that.

Actually, it was the black jeep you see in the pics. He was lifted, locked and running on 35's. I think he broke more out of stupidity than anything else. That guy pushed his front bumper against a rock outcrop and then gunned it halfway up, trying to do the rock ledges before this waterfall area. All 4 spinning like mad and then the "CLUNK/POP". We picked up the pieces and gave them back to him.

That waterfall is real tough, though I suspect David made it look easy.

Umm, Graham when did the stork bring that bumper by the house? :D Very nice indeed.

The climb out of Kane creek is a murder on SWBs. Nice pics dudes, keep 'em coming!

That is an understatement.

It's a nasty sonofabitch and it bent my Stout front bumper....

When we started Kane's the leader asked Dave if his rig was locked. He said no and got some looks from the group. His response "Don't worry, I can drive." And that he did. Very impressive.

This is about all I have left (unless you want more flowers). Also on Behind the Rocks, same spot I tipped up. Driver is Mike.

what's better about that pic w/ Jon and this last one. IIRC, that is the first obstacle of the trail. did that give you a bad feeling Jon? how did you like the trail? that is one of my favorites.

These pics are amazing. I'm getting sick looking at them knowing I should have been there. Well, there is always the October run and CM08.

BTW... did anyone happen to pick up my T-shirt?

David is probably one of the two or three best drivers I have ever seen. Him and Robbie, I can't remember the third off-hand. Maybe Ben Swain.

Michael,

I asked you to call or text me if you wanted me to pick up anything. I did not hear from you.

Yep, this was the first stop on Behind the Rocks. Note that I was number three in line. The FJ40 was number two. Why oh why the spotter took us both up the same line is beyond me. The trucks after me were taken up a different line to the right.

I liked the trail. It had some pucker in places. I will say Gary is a great spotter.

Sorry about that Mike. Spent most of my time afterwork either running after my daughter or at the hospital with mother in law. See you guys on saturday.
