Ghostrider I
I wear many "heads" as I have many vehicles.
Get a key cut without the keyless module, put it on a keyring, attach it to a carabiner, and hide it.

It looks like, from my primitive Toyota eye, that the LX450 blank is different than the one I see for the wallet cards. If you're going to make one for Land Cruisers, make it to fit the all metal version, so it will have a thinner profile. The only key I see for the LX450 has the plastic head. But it's not a transponder key - so maybe you can figure something else out using just the blade portion?
nice. “also fits other 90’s toyota’s with the same key blank”. i wonder if it would work for the 80. actually also wonder if it would work for my tacoma...![]()

It will probably work for your Tacoma, but the 80 key (for a Toyota badged one, that is) is a totally different design. I think the metal key is your most convenient option right now. Anything else would require some customization to get that Lexus style key card.nice. “also fits other 90’s toyota’s with the same key blank”. i wonder if it would work for the 80. actually also wonder if it would work for my tacoma...
Did you ever buy any of these keys and get them cut successfully?thanks man.
not sure i am following all of this but the lexus dealer is telling me the wallet key is available but the credit card holder is not.
so i am going to try to do a wallet key holder. then people can cut their own key at the dealership.
then for the toyota i nay look into making a holder and seeing if there is a way to get a “US non laser cut” key in there.
does that sound about right?

yeah. i went to the local lexus dealer. i was ordering the full size master and they kept bringing in the valet size key. and we went back and forth like three times.
i was hoping to do some research on it before doing this again o the wallet key with them.
so you have one of these for the toyota or the lexus?!
yeah. i was hoping to find that too.
i assume they don’t make that for the lexus?
but also, is there a wallet card for the toyota like the one shown for the lexus i guess is what i am asking.
I got my order in today and this is what I got. I think it’s going to work. I spoke with a mobile locksmith the other day that was rekeying our office and he said there was a locksmith in town with the Sidewinder machine that can trace the key.I ordered the following and plan to take them to Sewell Lexus in Dallas to have the keys cut. I will report back on how successful I am.

I'm pretty sure the card has been discontinued and I'm going to get something that doesn't work for me. We shall see.
how much did all of that run you?Update: I was able to get both new keys cut at my local locksmith today and now have two spares. Very happy to have some backup as the broken key I got with the truck was my only hope until now.
Part No.: 90999-00220 - $28.39how much did all of that run you?
(toyota parts + locksmith)
Part No.: 90999-00220 - $28.39
Part No.: 69518-50020 - $12.88
Part No.: 90999-00178 - $9.72
(purchased all from LexusPartsNow.com and I didn't do any shopping around; there may be savings to be had)
My local locksmith charged me $75 to cut both new keys since they "weren't their keys". Steep, I know, but the owner gave me a good deal on a safe a few years ago, so it's all good.
