Hey Ben, for crawling, I would suggest to do the 4:1 Toybox. That's what RHINO's running, and I'd say it's about as perfect a setup as you can get. He's got the normal 29:1 for your mild stuff, a 60 something to 1 middle low for most of your wheeling, and then a 128:1 deep low for very occasional tricky, show-off type stuff. I have the 420, and really love it, but I have a high tolerance for nusances, and I get plenty from this tranny. I think it's ultimate out off road, but on road it's wide ratio needs as much power as you can get from your engine. Then a few other little things, grinding, chattering. Someday, when I get enough moolah, I'll prolly replace the tranny with a rebuilt unit from a tranny shop. Until then, it'll get me by.
But anyways, my opinion is that the Toybox is way better than the Orion in many ways. Unless of course you don't mind doing most of your low range wheeling in 3rd and 4th gear.

Keep the pig Ben.

I agree with Jeff about picking up another project as time / money allows. All the work youve done will only have to be repeated on a "new" pig.

Projects?

fixing rust
power steering from an ifs mini truck
fixing rust
winch
fixing rust
working on electrical gremlins
fixing rust
replacing leaky oil seals
fixing rust
contemplating SOA
