Sorry in advance, I'm sure that this thread is going to be very boring to some of you! I have a wheeler that most of my money will be diverted to, but I also live between Ironman4x4 and MetalTech... Wish my wallet luck!

In my recent divorce, I "lost" our built 4Runner. It was extremely well set up and was used as a MetalTech R&D rig as well as the ex's daily driver. Since we had a well built SUV for adventuring, I was driving a Ford F350 diesel to pull our travel trailer and my wheeler. After the divorce was finalized, I decided to get rid of the Ford and get back into a "pink panty cruiser"... A 2013 LX570 with 94k on the ticker.

I think she is getting along with the wheeler okay.

I have had it almost a month and have only done a few things so far:

• Installed a Tekonsha P3 trailer brake controller. (This is now my tow rig, so most of my modifications will have towing in mind.)
• Installed Huskey Liners to the first and second row.
• Installed a Chinees center console tray.

I can see it on your face that all of you are super stoked for this thread.

it it well known that tow rigs need sliders and skids. you can't juke to avoid, these provide plow-over capability.

I don't have any pics of the LX pulling the trailer, but here is one from last summer:

I'm still trying to decide if this trailer stays or not. It was great for two adults, two kids, and a dog... Now it's mostly just me.


However, I will be trailering the gray truck up to the woods for a long weekend. I will make sure to get some pics of that.

The average life of a travel trailer is about 12 years. If you don't love it I would move it until you want to camp again.

Got everything loaded up last Thursday for our annual guys camping / wheeling trip. Unfortunately, I had to rent a U-Haul trailer since mine isn't quite done getting built yet.

Then I promptly filled up to try and get a good idea on what my towing fuel mileage will be moving forward. This pic still kinda hurts. LOL!

As far as towing went, it was everything I could have hoped for! My only complaint is the no name, bs tires on this thing are hot garbage... She still pull the way she should. Even on the dirt.

Unfortunately, I don't have very many pics of the trip. It was a great time with great friends as usual. It also rained as usual....

I ended up getting rid of my travel trailer this week, so I decided that I should replace the steaming dog doo tires. I started doing some shopping when I got into an internal conflict. It went something like this:

Brain: I just need a good all terrain tire for daily driving and towing.
Heart: Okay, but we should totally ditch the 20" wheels...
Brain: The 20's are better for towing.
Heart: But they look so... STOCK
Brain: ... Fine, we will look at wheels too, but I'm not spending very much. And we are sticking to 18's.
Heart: 17" look better.
Brain: Yeah, but I know that any 18 will fit... And the least amount of sidewall is better for towing.
Heart: Can we buy mud tires?
Brain: Absolutely not! This is a daily driver and tow vehicle!
Heart: You had mud tires on your Ford...

.... I think you all can see where this is going...

I ended up ordering a set of Method MR316 wheels in 17x8 with 25ET offset:

And 33x10.50r17 Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar MTRs to wrap them in:

Either my heart is getting more convincing or my brain has lost it's will to fight back! LOL.

I did end up buy a super cheap wheel and used 255/80r17 for the spare. I guess my brain thought that was a compromise...

Who needs practical decision making? You do you. I love MTRs such an awesome tire. I’m running Yokohama MTs on my LX and couldn’t be happier for what we do.

It's been a bit since I have updated this! I really haven't done much to the LX since the last post. I haven't even plugged it in to TechStream to make the little adjustments I want to do. LOL!

However, I did take it over to @tonsofun house. We ended up playing in his back yard and trying out the new "flex stump".

Yes, the driver's rear tire is off the ground and the passenger rear mud flap is dragging. LOL!

Lastly, I was driving home from the coast yesterday and caught this pic. I guess my LX is finally past the break-in period!

I still haven't done anything new to the LX, but hopefully that will change soon. I will say she does just fine with the new trailer.

I'm already at 102,000 miles and I couldn't be happier with the LX.

It's been a little over a month, so maybe I should give an update. LOL!

Last I posted, I was just leaving (or just getting back) from my club's (Cascade Cruisers) annual poker run in Tillamook State Forest called Cruisin' the Woods. I used the LX to yard the gray truck up there, then turned around and drug my old travel trailer up there to camp in. (Not the one shown above, the trailer I owned before that trailer... My buying and selling things gets confusing.)

The weather was perfect., the people were amazing, and both of my trucks worked awesome. I couldn't have asked for anything better! So I ended up buying my first travel trailer back... (See? I have issues....)

Right after Cruisin' the Woods, it was time for my Dad and I to try and fill our Buck tags. I threw what I thought I would need in the back of the Lexus and blasted out to the Middle Fork of the John Day River here in Oregon.

We were planning on using my Dad's Tundra and his travel trailer for this trip, so it was a quick burn for the LX. I just met up with him in Prineville and left it there. We didn't end up filling our tags, but it was an amazing trip.

On the way home, I knew that my club (Cascade Cruisers) and 4x4Bend were doing a joint run at Cline Butte OHV area. It was pretty much on the way home, so I surprised everyone and showed up. Remember at the beginning of this thread, I said my LX will not be a wheeler.... Oops.

As expected, she did awesome. However, the steps didn't fair so well... And I have a few new marks on the tupperware. I also got a couple of amazing scratches from the Juniper trees. Oh, and all my wheels have rock rash.
