Hey All,
I recently got an FJ60 off of marketplace that was known to have engine knock, and having rebuilt some VW 1600s in the past, I figured I could do a good enough job fixing the knock.
I popped off the oil pan last night, and lo and behold the rod bearing on cylinder #3 had turned into shiny golden sprinkles for my oil pan.
I'm planning on pulling the engine and seeing if anything else needs to be done, but the crank definitely needs to be machined or replaced.

I'm pretty knew to Toyota stuff, but reviewing my options and having looked at buying one online, I'm not sure of a reliable place to source Toyota parts, let alone a full crank. I'm also worried they might not be the best quality. Anyone know anywhere good online to get a machined or standard one?
My other option would be to get the one I have machined, but I'm new to the NC machine shop scene, and don't know who will do a good job on 2F parts. Any advice or recommendations for the Charlotte area?
Thanks for your time!

Not in CLT but I've had good experience with these guys in Greeneville, SC.

There's a Dover Head in Charlotte; it's out by the airport. They're a national franchise. I have no experience using them, and I don't know anyone who does.

Machine shops in Charlotte dried up about 15 years ago. The only ones left are in factories and they don't engage in job shop work. There should be some in Mooresville, but they will likely be expensive, due to their clientel.

You really need someone with a spray welding outfit and OD grinder to do the crankshaft work.
