Cranking but not firing
Hi new to 80 series vehicle it is a 1996 fzj80 manual 4.5l battery went flat didn’t have jumper leads thought tow start it would be alright but seems it was a bad idea now I have no power going through the coil to the distributor and not firing at all looking for help in the right direction thanks in advance

Is the CEL - check engine light illuminated with the ignition turned On but not rotated to Start? No light indicates no power to the ECM. First thing is to check the fusible links considering you were messing with the battery terminals. If you need more help there are hundreds of threads to search started by others in the same situation. Search is your friend.

A bad alternator or connection to it will not only kill your battery but prevent the engine from starting. Usually a brush assembly fixes it.

Sorry been away yes the CEL is illuminated when the ignition is turned on and not cranking thank you for your response
