I'm desperate for help here guys 🙏

Situation - just got my 80 a month or so ago, I was trying to install a small timer relay for my abs light so I can pass inspection. While in the dash I was also checking and changing some of the lightbulbs. Connected the relay to one of the power sources, ground etc all seemed fine. I'm an idiot and didn't disconnect the battery and I think something short circuited.

When I turn the key I get no MIL, no battery light next to the voltage gauge, HVAC, dome light etc all work, engine cranks hard but doesn't start. Did some digging and thought the fusible link was my best bet.

Swapped the link. No change. Now I'm worried. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you give us the year that would help with trouble shooting.

Of course duh that's my bad.

Its a 94. I should add I tested the EFI fuses and everything seems fine. I tried testing the EFI relay but I'm not sure I'm doing it right. Not 100% sure what prongs I'm supposed to be testing and with my multimeter set to resistance 200 I seem to get 000s no matter which I test.

Thanks for the help. I've read through those and I was leaning toward EFI relay being the cause however my charge light still doesn't come on with ignition on. Which is suppose to be a sign of faulty fusible link which I just replaced.

Hoping it's not a short that busted the new link.
First thing would be to remove whatever you installed and return to an unmolested configuration.
Test links/fuses with a meter, not your eyeballs.
Download the Toyota EWD and FSM from the resources section for your vehicle. It's a free download and is invaluable.

Don't know if this is relevant to anyone but my FZJ-105 with a 1Fz-Fe, suddenly wouldn't start yesterday, 400 kms from home. Cranked happily but no start. I called road side assist and the guy looked at my key and nailed it. It was a ten year old after market key copy from a locksmith. I grabbed the original Toyota key and it started first time! I felt like giving him a hug haha
