Anybody know where I could get a new or used exhaust manifold for a 3b. Mine is in two pieces, could I just get it welded?

I believe these are cast, if you weld it, it must be annealed afterwards. Here's how: heat the area around the spot to be welded up to a dull red colour, when a magnet won't stick to it, it's at the right temperature. Weld it, and keep it at that temperature, heat it up again if you have to. Then, bury the whole thing in vermiculite (any gardening shop should have huge bags of this for cheap) and leave it overnight. Cooling it slow keeps the metal at the weld from getting brittle. Too much trouble? www.sor.com should have a used, or new one, probably cheaper than Toyota.

i also have a couple floating around.
i wish someone would just come and give me some money and take all my 3B stuff away...
cheers

better question would be what do i NOT have...
over the years i stripped too many BJ40,42,60 trucks to count and i have shelves of parts, pumps, manifolds, head(s), cranks (already machined), cams, blocks (already machined), gears, many many parts...
cheers

so wayne, killing off the 3B eh? my prophecy is coming true. the 3B=307 chevy, good truck engine but past it's time.

1990 +, all ye hear me, convert, convert, convert.
(dave t has, jeff b is, I have, brett t is, sheldon is, phil h has, etc etc).

someday all you 4 cylinder boys will bow down to our greatness muhahahahahahah

Hey Rick

Some of us prefer "good truck engines". I'll be an easy convert though. As soon as Toyota does a common rail in the 1HDT. I'll be watching to see how the 4.4l V8 makes enough power for the '07 dually one ton. The rumour is that Alberta is going to be the test market for them. One of the local dealers is swapping their hoists for "ones big enough to work on a diesel crew cab dually"

Disclaimer... some, but not all, of the above rumour may have come completely out of my ass.

not killing them off, i have not sold a 3B part in years. use to be i could sell all i could get my hands on, then the JDM trucks started rolling in and the demand (especially in Alberta) has dried up big time.
if anyone wants to come with a truck and $2000 in their pocket i will give them all i have. to begin with there are at least 4 blocks all machined ready to go and the cranks, cams etc. someone will have a hay day...and a complete 3B rebuilt 30,000 km ago...and pumps and...
next is all the 40 stuff i collected, i have not really worked ona 40 in over a year (not counting the restro i am doing)(and the dead 40 in the garage).
i ned the room for 70 series stuff, i have one parts rig in the back yard another showing up by the end of the month and a couple 71 parts rigs in Jan...
oh well
cheers

Brazing?

A friend just Brazed it, and I hit it with a belt sander. We are not sure if it will work but I am putting it back together tomorrow.
