don't know how long this has been broke, but it will be repaired next week. ASAP!

i think the flaw is in the gusset not going past the rear bushing on the axle mount.

oh well :)

Hi All:

It is the failure of that crappy "diamond plate" that was used in this traction bar!

:grinpimp:

Alan

Daymmn--You need to find a good welder:flipoff2:.

Interesting it broke right at the stress riser at the end of the gussett. Post a pic of the fix, so we all can learn something.

Q:DWB.Needs more triangulation
i needed to extend the gusset all the way back past the end mount.
i may add some torsional gussets along the main one.

Q: josie (and the pussy cats) It is the failure of that crappy "diamond plate" that was used in this traction bar!
nope, the lack of extending it. no welds were hurt in the breakage. :D

Q:cam13. ease up on the throttle big guy
it's cool, everyone has an opinion.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT! my welder has been pissing me off lately

Q:pj.net.Last time I saw that thing it was on blocks who the heck let you take a break from sliders?

not on the 40, this is on the 60
40's still in the drive :crybaby:

ease up on the throttle big guy
Completely the wrong mindset :flipoff2:

Yep, failed at the stress riser caused by the gusset. You have plenty of room to plate the sides and reweld the tar out of it. You can also see how it failed right next to the weld, the material around the weld was made brittle because of the welding process.

Good job Jim

good i'm not alone, ripped my wrap bar off my axle yesterday and popped a pinion as a result. Drove off the trail 5 miles or so in reverse with the motor pinned and overheated it

Maybe Slee Can Make You A Good Trac Bar.:d
