Has anyone tried tried these tires? anybody know how well they perform in comparison to BFGs, Dunlops, Goodyear, etc?

Check out the FAQs there's tons of info in there. You can also use the search feature to find some great info.

Are you talking about the Cooper STT's? They're great tires. Search Cooper STT or Discoverer STT.

I put the STTs on my 80 last year very impressed with the tire wears well never gets stuck (LCs never do anyway!!!)
a little noisy but not bad.

I had the Coopers for a very long time and loved them. I think they are a good tire. just wish they had more sizes.

I'm leaning towards this tire as it is available in the 255/85R16 size. Didn't find a ton of info for the S/T's (lots on the STT's) on the search here, but people that are running them seem happy with them.

thanks....the stt look pretty nice.

I run them in that size on my tacoma, and I'm very happy. I have had bfg's in the past, and I'm not going back. Maxxis also makes the bighorn in that size, it was a hard decision between those two. Check around, some places will give a pretty good price also. Got mine for 156/ mounted & balanced.

you must have got a good batch of the st's in the US. The ones we got here in OZ were crap. They would chip real easy. I had tread blocks missing on mine. This was not from doing extrme stuff either. Have a look on the forum for Australian 4wd monthly there was quite a bit written about the ST,s a while back. I had a bad vibration on the cruiser when running them. Did rotations still there took them off and put some worn out BFGs on and vibration gone. Finally replaced the ST's that still had half tread left and bought some new BFG Muds. No more problems.
