Convert 6.5L Turbo Diesel to CNG?

Just thinking about it. CNG's $2/gal at the SJ Airport and PG&E office near work. I've got an 8' bed that's not used much.

Don't have time. Good idea though. Maybe I could get my kids to make it and buy it from them.

I don't think natural gas will ignite just by compression. You would have come up with some type of ignition system and modify heads to take sparkplugs. I think it would easier to swap engines.

I think a moded gas enfine is used to burn LNG similar to propane. I have seen them in Motorhomes and buses.

Something else I have seen is a Diesel motor running on used, filtered deep fry oil. If it gets very cold you need to run a storage tank heater. Talk about cheap
