I have a 2022 GX460 (Luxury) that I'm thinking about selling (I'm the original owner and, yes, I know that I might regret selling it). I had the vehicle completely done with PPF (XPEL) and it looks and drives great (22.5K miles on it). I also had the Air Down Gear Up drawer/sleeper system installed and I'm thinking I should remove that system and return to stock (put the 3rd row seats in) before selling. (the ADGU system is the only modification I have on the GX). I could probably sell the ADGU system after I remove it. What do you guys think?

Stock vehicles are always going to have the largest reach - as in the most numbers of people that are willing to buy that vehicle. The more mods you have, the more you narrow your audience and it's going to take longer to find that specific buyer. For me, it's nearly always worth it to return the vehicle to stock as much as possible unless the cost or time of returning to stock is more than you're going to get back.

I kept my third row and had the movers move it just for this reason

Out of curiosity why are you selling?

Appreciate the feedback and thoughts/recommendations. I was definitely leaning towards getting back to stock 3rd row. The ADGU drawer/sleeper system has been great but (probably) very few GX buyers want it with their vehicle. I'll sell the ADGU setup somewhere / separately.

Going with either a custom Transit camper van or Ford truck camper setup - to be determined. I want something I can take out on the road and camp in as well. I have another vehicle for in-town driving.

Post it as is, and offer the "back to stock" option is available if they want. Adjust the price accordingly.
Reasons for selling??

If I've learned anything it's that anything aftermarket add noise. Buying my 22 GX, I wanted SILENCE. Unlike what I've had in all of my other 4x4's. If I was looking for a 22-23 GX I'd pass on any with any mods done to it. So yeah, like everyone else said stock will have the largest reach.

There's a breaking point at which returning a vehicle to stock isn't worth the time and/or effort, a lot of which depends on how much time/money is invested into the vehicle and how much your own time/money is worth. For more highly modified vehicles, the proposition of getting a vehicle back to as close to OEM as possible can be a huge undertaking.

In the case of a vehicle with only ADGU as the mods on board, that alone is worth trying to sell it as a separate item and see if you can get 75% of the cost back, or at least sell the vehicle with the 3rd row back in place. Might be a wash, but if you leave it in there it might narrow the spectrum of interest.

^Agree with Roody - since your only mod is the drawers I would definitely pull those and put the stock seats back in so you can sell it as a stock vehicle then sell the drawers separately.

That's what I did - pulled the ADGU drawers/sleeper system and reinstalled the 3rd row seats. Following the ADGU Youtube installation video (for GX460s) made the removal process easy. I'll probably sell the drawers/sleeper system for around $500.00.

You should reach out to Garrett with Waypoint Vehicles. He has been in the custom van camper game a long time and would definitely steer you towards the Ford truck camper setup. Garrett is super to deal with and very straightforward. He will not feed you BS.

I'll buy and pick up anywhere in the state of Texas at that price this weekend.

My drawer set has been ordered, but that would be a substantial savings.

FWIW CarMax chopped $500 off the trade-in for my '22 since I didn't have the third row.

As soon as you start modifying, especially to the extent of mine, there isn't a dealer out there that wants to touch it as a trade in. It's going straight to the auction so a different dealer can deal with it. So now you're stuck sitting there trying to sell your car to the "right" person yourself. If you can take it back to stock, do it.
