Hello all,

I am considering buying a 2011 LC. I currently drive a 2013 GMC Sierra and would sell it to help offset the cost of the cruiser. I owned a 98 100 series about 6 years ago.

A couple questions. Is it possible to upgrade the headlights in a 2011 to look more like the 2013 headlights? I have a weird thing about headlights. The 2013's and newer have awesome looking headlights. What are the other differences between a 2011 and 2013-newer?

I am looking at a 2011 with 80k miles. I have asked the dealer who is selling the vehicle to make sure there is no rust on the undercarriage, as I've read about that being a thing to look out for. Local cruisers where I live are few and far between so I am looking at buying one and having it shipped to me. Is there anything else I need to check with the dealer on before getting down to business? Other than the obvious when looking at a used car...

I appreciate any insight you can provide.

Thanks. Helpful info in those links. Here are 2 pics of the undercarriage of the cruiser I am considering. What do the experts think?

Have him send you pictures of the undercarriage.

Looks ok.

I'll add that since you having it shipped, you might want to find a unit that is perfect w/ no winter exposure. The one shown is good, I would;t necessarily walk away form it, but it does have some very minor surface rust in a couple of places.... easy to take care of, but the time, money and effort could be put into preserving a unit that has zero. What environment will you be running this in?

I am currently in Tennessee but we are moving to central Texas this year. The dealer said they can apply a product to the entire undercarriage that will prevent any further rust from forming. From what I've read on the forum, though, that sounds a little like bs. Maybe it will help maintain the rust but further treatment would be required down the road.

why not wait until you get to Texas and buy there locally? there are tons of trucks that show up in Houston and Dallas. They will more than likely be rust free. If you are going to buy before moving, it may be worthwhile to take a weekend trip to see/drive the vehicle in person prior to purchase. Cruisers are amazing trucks. If you havn't driven one you will be amazed at the quality of build and ride comfort. That being said, every used car was sold/traded in for a reason. Good luck in your search. Post pics when you get one!

I drove a 2016 at a dealer close to where I work today. Big mistake. My goodness that truck is nice. I am now looking at a 2013 model. I have time on my side so I will wait for the right one. The local dealer is helping me in my search now, as they have a family of dealerships and can trade for a used one that fits what I'm looking for. Thanks all, for the advice. I'll certainly post some pics when I buy.

I did a post a couple years ago comparing the 2011 and 2013. Search by my name and it should pop up pretty easily as I'm not very active on here. Here is the link as well.
My opinion on 2011 vs 2013

The 2013 is hands down my favorite truck compared to the 2011 and my 100 series.
