JP (Clemsoncruiser) is at the beach this week enjoying some time before he graduates from Clemson Sat. I don't think he has internet down there so this might be a good time to give him a few jabs before he gets back and sees it.

So anybody have any to say to the guy? Stories. Some well deserved praise for finally taking the step out in the real world after what, ten years of college? :p

I remember the first time I met him. 3 or 4 years ago. Bob (3pits) was having a parts swap. I met half of the Mafia that day. He managed to swindle a carb away from me that day. That bastard.

I remember the first time we went wheeling. Out at Mountain Estates. He said he was going to bring a stove for us to cook on. He fixed his dinner and it ran out of gas. Left me high and dry. That bastard.

I remember my first trip to Tellico. He said he would help me get camp set up. He didn't show up until midnight. That bastard.

All kidding aside. Congrats man on finally getting it done. to you.

You bastard.:flipoff2:

I had more money when I was broke and in college than I do now with a nice cushy salaried w/benefits job and a wife with the same.

Good luck! And, congrats!

We drove 1826 miles to Ouray, Colorado to meet him at the 1st Annual FJ Cruiser Summit. He wasn't there. That bastard.

congrats JP! Welcome to the real world. It only gets worse from here.

I stayed and got a masters hoping to see him graduate once. Did he? No, now I have to drive 8 damn hours to see it. That Bastard! :flipoff2: Good job man I'll see you on friday morning for some wrenching.

PS where the hell was my thread I graduted twice before he even got 1. :flipoff2:

Good ole JP....the messes we have gotten ourselves into.....I remember the first time I met JP was in the Bilo parking lot here in Clemson.....of course he thought I was a nut case but he was right and nothing has changed.....we have burned many a candle into the late night working and wrenching on cruisers....everything from swappin out engines at midnight for a tellico run to the beginning of my 4 speed swap out....the blood we've shed and the oil we've drank and the many of cuss words that have been heard throughout the neighborhood. JP it's been a blast and I look forward to the future...glad you made it man!!

Congrats JP. I don't really have stories about you, with the exception maybe of the one Rick already shared (although I flew to Ouray). Oh, and how well you make the Rotel dip. Oh, and how I will always have a mental picture of you fixing your cruiser barefoot.

But I guess my question for you now is, since it took that long to get a degree...how long is it going take you to get a real job? :flipoff2:

Congrats man, glad to see you finally got that attendance thing figured out! :grinpimp:

I wonder who is more relieved - Mary Ellyn or your old man?

Now get a job and start socking away some dough so you can join me and the crew on the next powder assault down in the Andes next summer!

Best stoy I have is when JP couldnt drive Slinky down to meet the 2nd group at the holy land so we took my 62. Well part of the way down we got really stuck in a mud hole. Walked 7 miles and finally got picked up by an old guy and his grandson. The got to the BP and no one was there. We did survive, but man that was alot of walking!!!!

Congrats JP, you are one of the main reasons why I joined and have stuck with UC!!!

and me and ghen were lost and found yall at the BP!...hey at least I won a lug wrench because of the bastid.....don't fret JP...I did the 7 year plan also. Renee walked at the same time as me (she is younger and was getting her masters)..but did I have fun...

Speaking of the holy land, who busted their pinion goofing off on the way to camp? Hmmmm

You guys are the best ....... UC is the main reason for my 7 year college career; I couldn't let things like class and studying for exams get in the way of my club adventures :grinpimp:

I can't wait to join the rest of you poor bastids in the real world :flipoff2:

Anyone in Clemson on Sat. night come have a beer on my old man :hillbilly:

My best JP story is when we did Caesar's Head with the trail crew. Not only did JP consider a Voltage Regulator to be an optional accessory on Land Cruisers, the Trail Team mechanic determined that JP was driving a miracle 40 when he found what appeared to be JP's gas line and fuel filter not hooked up but the engine running.

I guess the story that truly resonates with me is JP's convincing of his bride (JP, you married way above yourself) that the cherry 80 is actually hers!

Now, welcome to the real world of mortgages, 14 hour work days, the end of your metabolism, and a bunch of your paycheck going to some guy named FICA.:bang:

Thanks for all the kind words and memories fellas!!! I actually made the long walk across the stage and shook president Barker's hand so it is offical........... I am joining the ranks of the 9-5s
