seems like that could be whats left of the two engines, not necessarily a complete package with all engine compartment electrical and mechanical assemblies, but point taken..... Its hard to tell what your getting without a lot of photos I guess. I have the tear-down photos if interested. Thanks for your feedback. Here's two more 3B's that need rebuilds:

He's asking $800 for both![]()
thanks for posting your pics. Give me a call and we can talk about the pricing if still interested. we can split the difference between your offer and my low and its yours. thanks again for lending me the credibility. One more.
not sure. let me take a better look.I apologize if I am missing something, but is this 12 or 24V?
I will explain my situation. The truck was running/driving when I pulled it apart, no noise, etc.. I know that as a skeptical person that does not mean a whole lot to you or me if I were in your shoes. But still, it is solid and could be put back together (plan A) with a complete seal kit that I purchased for $280.00(my loss) or completely restored which was my intention (plan B). So the deal is that I owe him on this still and if I were not back in school I would have it paid off. He is not pressuring me but I want to get this debt cleared up before the end of the year or I go back to plan B. I currently owe 3000.00 on it and am living on student loans so you can see why I cannot take much less than I am asking and still pay him back. I am willing to eat the cost of the seal kit. I understand your position but at least it is now apparent why my asking price is what it is.I'm not going to say what the asking price should be but my offer would be $1500. I could pick it up at the end of August.
Let me explain, I am sceptacle, to me a motor disassembled is very subject, has the head been NDT'd?
Mileage is suspect as it should have been in KM's. The 5 speed is not the original trans as they weren't offered in 81. So if the trans has been changed is the engine original to the rig?
Not knowing any of this actually ran and the trans isn't making any noise or have any issues.
Just my opinion.

This is out of a FJ60 and it was the original motor from that truck. I took a look at the alternator and searched the part number but did not have any luck. Any other suggestions?if it's out of a bj60 - 12v.

sorry, I am but a humble student in the world of Toyota diesels. I am obviously out of my depth. Also, how do I distinguish between 12 and 24 volt?I still don't get it. Fj60 did NOT come with diesel engines! That would be a bj60 and an 81 bj60 didn't come with a five speed. Four speed ONLY.
