The weekend of July 13th Karma and I are heading up to the Colorado Sand Dunes! Bring the Family and come on up!!

- Distance from Los Alamos: 3hrs, 167miles
- I'm leaving Thursday evening, July 12th at around 7pm to claim a camp spot early (I can claim up to 3 if coming Friday)
- Camping at: Medano Pass - https://www.nps.gov/grsa/planyourvisit/medano-pass-road.htm
- Family Friendly!
- Subject to change depending on unforeseen fire restrictions

Was just there this last weekend. There is some water up on the pass but none by the main parking area. And fire bans. Good luck with your trip!

Camping at Medano Pass 4x4 Road is first come/first serve and is my preferred area. Whoever gets there first, be sure to scope out a site that can accomodate multiple rigs, grab it, move in. After you setup your spot, come back out of the Medano road, grab cell signal and somehow let every one know what site you got. Or, if you can hit a HAM repeater from your site, that'd work too.

The official park CG does require res and very controlled, if that's your thing.

unfortunately (again) my plans for leaving tonight have been fooled by the Lab and i have to work tomorrow.if I make the trip up it wouldn't be until Saturday morning. Saturday might not happen either .. oh the joys of working at the Lab
