@LandCruiserPhil

Do you have any Collector Emblems for sale?

Thanks
Sorry for delayed reply... I salvaged my previous CE badges', but I do have a standard chrome badge and all the internal parts from a donor lid. This includes the third light, rear key assembly and rear window washer assembly. Let me know if these might be useful to you.

Does anyone know how to remove the emblem without significant damage? I just picked up a 97 CE but the liftfate is shot and I'm going to replace. Want to keep emblem if I can ...

I am not a dent pro, but was told that using some fishing line and gentle heat will allow one to get behind the stick-on emblem and lift it off without damage. Good luck!

I still have two factory side steps , and the rear lid internals/chrome badge left if anyone is in need.

Dental floss.

And once you have it off, just pick through the foam tape rem & plan to buy ~yard of that doublesided foam tape.

Or really suck it up & pay someone who has a NIB one. I've gotten relatively obscene offers for mine since they were that smoked/bronze & only on CE's & 40th's.

GUYS, I have a '97 Collector's Edition and have thought long and hard about this. Wouldn't it be possible to take the very much available normal "LandCruiser" badge and stain, tint or smoke it so it looks 99% just like the original Black Chrome badge? They sell rattle can spray to smoke headlights and taillights that gives a clear, tinted look that might work. I bought a regular one for about $120 and it's been sitting in my closet until the day that I eventually paint the vehicle. I might try it and let you know how it works.

I stock COLLECTORS EDITION badges

I think he might be referring to the tail gate Land Cruiser emblem.

If that is the case tinting the letters will be a tall order as those were actually painted from the inside of the emblem after is was moulded and before the adhesive was applied.

I posted the badge info for @trowand from a PM he sent me. Also to let others know this discontinued Toyota part was available 3rd party.

Copy.

It is nice to know you have gone to the effort to make those. It makes me wish I needed them.:)

Thanks they are perfect to the point an expert like yourself would be challenged:)

Same boat want to put them on my 80 but I dont like to see clone muscle cars so I refrain. 😕

Somebody needs to make the drivers side rear molding for the CE - 40th:bang:

You could do like Toyota does and require a valid VIN be submitted to you before you release them. :grinpimp:

I wonder if the non-US molding without the side marker cutout is still available?:hmm: If it was a resourceful fellow like yourself could cut a hole in it.

Non US is still available, cutting the hole would be a challenge in matching the detail. I ended up sources used and restoring to new to match. I now have a few back ups for when the day comes.

Also note: The front door side molding CE/40th is no longer available without lettering. They all now say FOUR WHEEL DRIVE here and other markets.

Back when those trucks were new we got a 40th that had the plain molding on the left door and a "FOUR WHEEL DRIVE" molding on the right door. One of two 80 Series build mistakes we got through the years. The other was a truck that had the wide-spaced general market license plate holes in the tail gate.

Im guessing the above does not have a hole. I ordered checked several other markets for a part with the hole and no luck. I ordered my side molding overseas hoping it did not say FOUR WHEEL DRIVE but after two fails I gave in to the letters.

Correct, no hole. That one shows up for JDM and European applications.
