75652-60030 has the hole. It does show a minor European usage in addition to the US but sadly a gonner as you already know.

I wonder how bad it would look with the marker flush-mounted on top of the molding? You'd have to do both sides to make it match however.

It would look fine but it would not be right
I ended up paying more used than OEM retail for the first one I found.
