2 of the most reliable vehicles in history have something in common -
I have my 1983 Mercedes 300td parked behind my Fj60 on the street. Looking at them it occured to me they have VERY similar proportions.
1983 Mercedes W123 300td -
Wheelbase - 110.24 inches / 280.0 cm
Length - 185.83 inches / 472.0 cm
Width - 70.47 inches / 179.0 cm
Height - 57.87 inches / 147.0 cm
1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 -
Wheelbase - 2,730 mm (107.5 in)
Length - 4,675 mm (184.1 in)
width - 1,800 mm (70.9 in)
height - 1,750 mm (68.9 in)
Well, length and width are very close. Obviously height is going to be different but not as much as I would have thought.
Wheel base is interesting. I guess longer for "Autobahn" (max factory speed 96mph) vs. shorter for Wheelin'
Picture doesn't do the similarity justice sadly
I've never been one for a car body on truck chassis but the 300 would look good up there.
