Actually it's kinda directed toward everyone going; Rocky, Steve, myself, Andy, Jason, Roger and perhaps Rob. am i missing anyone?

I need to get with Roger in the coming months as far as getting my truck to his place and what (if any) additional room there will be for spare parts and whatever other stuff we/I'll need. My plan is still coming together but looking like I'll be at Rogers shop on Friday Oct. 2nd for loading.

Just off the top of my head other big ticket things that we need to figure out are where to camp, what trails to hit etc but there's time still.

Andrew - I've never been so making some assumptions here, you could certainly do it but probably not the trails we intend to hit I'm sure. That (again I assume) would mean getting 2 or 3 more similar rigs to commit so you'd have a group of guys to ride with.

Andrew...you can't do where they are going. Plan a trip to the Rubicon and then hit Moab on the way home. Take two weeks. You will never forget it.

I could be tempted :)

Dan are you talking about this years Rubithon??? Somebody need co- Driver? Gas$$$ Hit me up. Dying to get back out there.

to get back there!!!

Ted I'm planning on tagging along somehow, with or without a vehicle.
If with a vehicle I need some help with suspension work. Thinking rear 4 link and Coils/ front spring over.

I can't make this year. Hoping next year Rubithon is on the calendar. Have to settle in a year at the new job first.

hope you can make it. Linking would be awesome but if I knew anything about it I'd have done mine already.

While I have not driven to Moab from Atlanta, I just completed a trip to Flagstaff on I-40. I can say that its a very easy drive and with the exception of the s*** hole known as Memphis and a few sections in Oklahoma, I-40 has recently been repaved and was a very nice drive. Many places, the speed limit is 70 MPH and traffic runs at 80 plus. Probably not a huge advantage if you are towing, but I have to imagine it is a much easier drive than I-70.

Is way better than i70. Once towing you will want to prob stay sub 70 or close to it. I know around here 1-1.5 mpg is no big deal but over 4k miles it matters.

I would do I-40 to ABQ then shoot up through there to Bloomfield, then into Farmington and then into Rez country.

Or you can take the really scenic route and go through Cortez to Monticello then up to Moab.

so here's one for you guys:

Cliffhanger is represented at 2:46 and Rusty Nail No Left Turn at 3:41 in this video from Moab

I love how it sounded like Chewbacca yelling everytime he was on the brakes.

Also, looked like he was running an auto trans in that rig.

Well we have hit our first glitch, Jason has bailed. So we are down one truck on the trailer and more importantly a co driver.
I am planning on taking my wagon so will not be doing BFE or the other extreme stuff so some days we will have two groups.
The last time I was there (2009)Slickrock campground was the best place to stay, they have camping and cabins. Henry a 40 on 35's will do great on most of the trails.

BUMMER!! Yeah that is a snag, we need to fill that co-driver & open trailer spot asap! About the only one I know if that can drive the car hauler is Spanky but you know the rest of that story.

Sorry you can't make it Jason. I know you really wanted to.

Roger, do I need to call and make reservations at Slickrock Campground or do we just show up?

Anyone else have opinions or info on anywhere to stay besides Slickrock?

?

As we get closer and am sure it is all going to happen, I will reserve a space. If you want a cabin might need to reserve early.

So who are the trailer spots currently? Ted, Roger and ??? How serious are Rob and Andy still?

Henry and Rocky are both likely coming, but are driving themselves, correct?
